In its first season, Cedar Cove had pretty low ratings and the numbers dropped lower in season two. Will viewership continue to decline or will it rise? Will this Hallmark Channel drama be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned.
Cedar Cove revolves around single mother Olivia Lockhart (Andie MacDowell), a municipal court judge from a small seaside community. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastion Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
12/1 update: Hallmark has cancelled this series after three seasons.
Final season averages: 0.13 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.64 million total viewers.

For reference: The second season of Cedar Cove averaged approximately a 0.15 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.87 million viewers.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
We don’t think Cedar Cove needs to be cancelled at all—- just improved! Everyone I know can’t wait to watch it. Something about it is comforting, very enjoyabe, with a beautiful setting to die for. But, it does have its problems: Jack is way too sappy and over the top as well as most all the other actors. The DA is the only one that gives a somewhat believable performance. What in the world is wrong with Andi McDowell that she would take on such bad script writing for her part? Doesn’t she have a say so and if so… Read more »
Please don’t cancel the series Loveall Debbie MacCombers books!
my husband and i both enjoy cedar cove. we love all the characters. everyone is very genuine. not only that, but it’s clean, and witty.
I have watched the last two seasons of Cedar Cove, especially the addition of Colin. Hope the show isn’t cancelled.
Like the show but maybe a few too many characters. Love Colin Ferguson…. Hope he sticks around for a another season if it’s renewed. Watch it every week!
I love Cedar Cove and look forward to watching it every Saturday. It’s entertaining. My only problem is that the older ladies all have long hair which I think is ridiculous. Grace looked awesome in her short hair.
I REALLY LIKE CEDAR COVE, PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL. BUT IT NEEDS MORE OF A PLOT, MYSTERY–COMEDY. TOO MANY SILLY CHR ACTERS THAT DO NOT TIE IN A PLOT. SUCH BEAUTIFUL SCENERY SHOULD BE AIRED IN THE COLD WNTER MONTHS, IT WOULD GIVE YOU A WARM FEELING, NOT IN THE SUMMER THAT MAKES YOU WANT TO VACATION NOT WATCH TV.
The writers should READ the Debbie Macomber books that this series supposedly is based on. Olivia could never be so insecure, wishy-washy, and vacillating! Most of the characters are written as people who cannot make up their minds about anything or make sound decisions about anything. The only characters who come across as reasonably mature are Bob and Peggy and Moon! In “real life,” a judge would never be as insecure as Olivia, and attorneys would not be so “snarky” and pompous.
What can I say! It is terrible, sophmoric, and moves at a snail’s pace. Yet I keep watching it. Grace’s hair growing full length in one week, a community ball game with no substitutes, planning a wedding in a few days, and helping your friend unpack her boyfrienqds boxes; and then there is the poor chemistry between Olivia and Jack. I could go on and on…so much unrealistic chronology. Agree about Justine…zombie. It’s my highlight of the week…the show I love to hate.
I just started watching this season . I did not know it was on and I had not seen it advertised before until this last season
by Andie MacDowell. I think the cast is great but a lot of the storylines seem elementary. They have Andie & Dylan going back & forth almost every few hours { like kids ) almost and they make a good couple..Channge some of the scripts and you will have a winner. I decided to see what happens this season before I stop watching. Wish you the best.
The shows reminds me too much of a soap opera for day time television. The overacting of the cast puts it in the silly category.
Carolyn: I agree 100% about the overacting of the cast. It’s so silly—all of it. These actors act like they’re in 7th grade. Grace is ridiculous about her shower. No grown woman would act like that. And Olilvia is just as bad, hanging onto silly, over dramatic Jack. And Justine? She is such a bore—no expression when she talks or walks. A zombie. What is wrong with Hallmark to have such a elementary script that is insults the intelligence of its viewers? They know people want this show to succeed, but they have got to write better scripts! The storyline… Read more »
Can’t agree with you more about Justine!
It’s not really the characters or scripts. The acting is what makes all of these characters (except Jack) completely unlikeable. The acting is cringeworthy which is too bad because I like both the story and the scenery. You couldn’t give a better script to these actors because except for Jack, none of them can act and they’re already sinking with the basic stuff they’re given. Oh, Moon and the dad/son real estate duo are good too, but everyone else should be replaced.
Brennon and Dylan should not be in this show. I suggested they add Ryan Paevey and Andrew McCarthy instead.
I don’t want to see Cedar Cove get cancelled, but I’m afraid it will be because people will give up on the actors, script and story line: I am personally tired of whiney Jack, overly-nosy Bob, over-exuberant and silly Grace, zombie-acting Justine, etc..; etc.;. Why can’t they improve the substance of the show and the elementary script? the actors all look bad and the entire dialogue is not natural. It’s choppy and doesn’t flow well between the actors. I have seen CC actors (especially Andie McDowell) in other shows and they at least have a good script. The dialogue is… Read more »
I love Cedar Cove. Please don’t cancel!!
I enjoy Cedar Cove. I don’t have to think too much. Just wish less advertisements and seasons were longer.
Me too! It’s just a happy time in a crazy world!! I so enjoy it!!!
Poor cedar cove. Don’t know how it can survive. We all love the idea of cedar cove but the characters are too shallow, poor scriptwriting and overacting makes this show. corny and boring! The storyline for the 50+ actors is
written for the Jr.high age group! Grace,Bob, Peggy, Olivia, jack, and goofy justine—who acts 10—are ridiculous and so silly. Where does hallmark get their writers?? even the.clothes are frumpy! Why can’t this show have some substance to it???
