Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

At least please do a movie or tv mini series to wrap up what happens to these wonderful characters!! I just got thru with season 3 and really must know how the stories will end. I also agree that we need more shows like this with no swearing, nudity, killing and other such. Please bring it back!!
I would have enjoyed another season. I didn’t feel like the show had reached a conclusion.
I wish the show would come back. It was no violence, no swearing, no nudity! Loved the characters and the actors and actresses who played them. Wish they at least could have given us closure.
Please bring back. I loved the show
I can’t believe this show ended! I loved it! No violence, just sweet love mysteries, etc. Reminds me a bit of the series HART OF DIXIE and I think we need more shows like these instead of constant murder and killings. Can’t NETFLIX pick them up or another network?
Netflix does not run shows like this. It does not mesh with their image and choices.
I am very disappointed the show has been cancelled! We really enjoyed the show and looked forward to watching it each week. If we knew we would not be at home when it aired, we always recorded it! So sorry it has been cancelled!
It could have been a big hit – HOWEVER, either the scripting or the acting was not always up to par. It could have been better. I was glad that it was on and watched all three seasons, but I am afraid the acting was just sub-par, and stiff a lot of the time. I watched because I liked some of the actors previous works. Not every actor in the show was sub-par, but a good handful were just not that good. Sorry folks. It could have been really great.
I was really disappointed to learn that Cedar Cove was cancelled. Why leave the fans hanging, not fair to us. Makes me wonder if I will get involved in another Hallmark Series because they don’t seem to care about their viewers!
Love the show and want Season 4,5,6 etc…
We need more shows that are full of kind messages and goodness!
I was so disapointed to find out Cedar Cove was canceled. I would love to see a closure episode or movie. What I would really love is for the show to be brought back. It was good clean TV.
please bring cedar cove back and at least due some closure for the shows fans. i have been waiting all year for season 4. I really enjoyed the show.
Really liked the show, hate that it is cancelled!
Thats not fair! I loved Cedar Cove. I hate how greedy people are getting. Because you lost a few interests of people. Doesn’t mean you just cancel a show. At least do a special to tie up loose ends. I do not like that witch show. But cedar Cove have me hope. Ill give that new show a shot I forget the name ut starts soon. But if I don’t like it I won’t watch Hallmark anymore I guess. Except for golden girls.
I’m very sad Cedar Cove was cancelled. I love the Hallmark channel very much, but feel they should consider those of us who were looking forward to season 4 and knowing what was going to happen with the cliffhangers the Hallmark channel left us with. The least they could do is produce a movie to give closure to this great show.
cedar cove was a down to earth show of which little violence and the characters were excellent.
The stories were done very well and am sad that the show was cancelled. Should bring it back.
We do watch the hallmark channels all the times and this was a disappointment to cancel.
“Cedar Cove” was (is?) my favorite Hallmark show. I have taped every episode, and watch them over & over. Please bring it back.
