Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I loved Cedar Cove! Not only beautiful scenery, but people who cared about each other and great story lines! Makes you want to live there! So few shows on that are worth watching! Why cancel a good one?
Such a bummer!!!! Totally fell in love with this show!! Bring it back!! Excellent cast beautiful setting and love the down-home community feel. It’s so hard to find clean entertainment theses days!!!
I am so disappointed to see the show cancelled. It was enjoyable and easy to watch. No major violence and a cast of gentle people. The show will leave a void in the summer viewing.
Just did search to find out when cedar cove was returning and find out it is canceled’. Very disappointed love the show and the cast. Please at least do a movie to put an end to the open storylines.
I am getting damn sick and tired of getting invested in a show and its characters and having it cancelled with lots of unresolved issues by a network who doesn’t give a damn about the viewers. Shame on you Hallmark!!
Even though Hallmark decided to cancel Season 4 of Cedar Cove, they at least owe us a 2-hour movie to wrap up the story and no leave fans hanging!
I just finished watching the 3rd season of Cedar cove. Now I read the 4th season is cancelled. So upset with hallmark.
I have been watching the show on Netflix just to find out that it has been cancelled… I’m not understanding why the networks are cancelling all the good quality family show and keeping reality shows. I really hope they reconsider bring the show back
I really wish Hallmark would consider bringing cedar cove back!! My whole family has become interested in what happens next I want cedar cove back!
I am disappointed it was canceled. I looked forward to seeing the new episodes and it was so much better than the shows on the local network.
So sad I loved this show
started watching it on Netflix and tore through the whole thing- now no 4th season. I hope they at least do a movie to tie up loose ends
The one good, clean show that you can watch with your kids and parents….and they cancel it. Very disappointing!!
What a disappointment and shock, to learn there will be no season four of Cedar Cove. Viewers deserve at least one more two hour episode to tye up loose ends. My happy day just turned sad.
So bummed! Really liked this show.
