Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:

Please bring back Cedar Cove. Just because the ratings may have dropped some doesn’t mean you should cancel on all the ones who did enjoy it. The show aired an hour later on Sunday night and I feel that’s why the ratings dropped. I loved the show and hope the seasons continue for years to come. Thank you, Melissa

I really wish Hallmark would not cancel Cedar Cove. It was my favorite show. I wish they would at least have a 2 hour movie to wrap things up.
I found this series on Netflix, please reconsider Season 4!! In this day and age, streaming may tell more the story than weekly prime time episodes!!! Please bring back Cedar Cove!

I would like to see it return to TV – I really enjoyed this show. Perhaps putting on a night other than Saturday would have been better.
Really really disappointed that you left us not knowing what has happened to Olivia and the rest of the cast. It was such a nice story, as all Hallmark stories are, but the cast was very special and we always looked forward to the episodes. SHAME ON YOU FOR DOING THIS TO LOYAL FANS!
Oh I am SO DISAPPOINTED! I dearly loved this series and the cast! Frankly I couldn’t wait to see the next installment and it was one of the best family friendly shows on TV. The least they could have done was to provide one last episode to wrap up the series and not leave everyone hanging! HALLMARK MISSED THE BOAT ON THIS ONE! Might be time to listen to the fans for a change???
I came late to the party, finding Cedar Cove on Netflix late last year. I’ve since watched all 3 seasons and today, searched to find out when the show would be returning for season 4, only to find out it was cancelled. I’m so disappointed! What a great show. Clean, fun, well-written characters and deep story lines. I really hate it when shows are wrapped up with a neat little bow at the end but this ending left us wondering about so many things.
