Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?
So disappointed!! Loved the TV series – scenery and characters, after reading all of the books. Season 3 took a twist of events, so I was anxious to watch Season 4 to see the “issues” resolved. Please come back!!

I am so disappointed! I was looking to see when the new season of Cedar Cove starts and learned it has been cancelled. I had finally found a good, clean heartwarming show with wonderful characters, beautiful scenery and a good storyline. At least give us a finale but I would prefer you bring it back on. Sad in Tennessee
Disappointed that Cedar Cove is not coming back for season 4. Finally a show I could watch without anything offensive or distasteful. Will you have at least one more episode to be a finale? Not happy!
Also looking to see when the show would start again . Disappointed.

I was just looking on line to see when season 4 would be on and was so disappointed to find out that it has ended. I wish we could have had at least a few shows to wrap things up for us. So sad.
Very disappointed this one of the only family oriented shows left to watch on tv. I looked forward to watching each episode every week. And ending a show without a season finale isn’t classy at all and Hallmark should’ve done a way better job if they were cancelling the show. I’ve read a lot of the book connected to this series and I loved watching it play out on tv. Not sure I’ll be watching much on hallmark anymore after this.
Can’t wait to see The Beach House with Andie McDowell. I’m a big fan of Mary Alice Monroe’s books.
I loved the show but I felt the third season became boring and didn’t expand enough on the characters. I felt too that the long drawn out relationship between Olivia and Jack became was repetitive. Absolutely loved the cast and the first two seasons.
I really loved the show, too! However, I agree that Olivia and Jack’s relationship was too drawn out and needed to be resolved. I think other conflicts and story lines could have been written instead–especially since Olive was a judge.. Then, maybe the ratings wouldn’t have declined, and Cedar Cove wouldn’t have been cancelled.
agree should have been closing season. I looked forward to watching Cedar Cove. seems as if a program doesn’t have shooting, murder, rape, etc it is cancelled. what has happened to programs family can watch together and enjoy. can’t believe Cedar Cove has been cancelled and the postal dead letter program is still on the air and all the rerun movies continue to be shown. enjoyed Hall Mark channel when I first subscribed. not so much anymore.
I loved the series and am very saddened to hear it was canceled. It was a great series
I am saddened to hear that Cedar Cove has been cancelled. I watched all of the episodes and looked forward to seeing them every week. I thought it was a better series than some of the others.
Well that’s really disappointing! Hallmark has a history of doing this even if it’s just reruns of old shows like The Waltons, so I’m not surprised. Too bad they couldn’t at least give it a closing season! Thanks a lot Hallmark for once again leaving your viewers out in the cold!
Did not realize cedar cove was canceled. Very disappointed. Absolutely enjoyed! There should have been a closing season!
I am sincerely sorry to see that Cedar Cove is cancelled. Evan my husband , a retired truck driver got interested and looked forward each week to the show. It was a clean show . Not too many around any more.
