Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

We wish hallmark would at least air a season 4 of Cedar Cove even if it a short season. I think if Hallmark wants a following of future series it should give a proper ending to this one.
I can’t believe the series ended I loved it I was so hoping for more seasons I really feel like they should bring it back it was an amazing show. With everything going on in the world these days it’s nice to see a show based around the town likes to help each other and left them up instead of tearing them down
Decided to check to see when new series Chesapeake Bay was starting. Just found out Cedar Cove was cancelled, what a shame. I watched the show from day one and absolutely loved it. So sad! Would have been really nice to have an ending. How about a movie to tie it up?
Yes cedar cove ending way to fast and yes it should come back soon need to have same characters. This show was a reputation all its on as well as a feel good show to watch just not enough of these kinds of show on television anymore. The world around us always look a little brighter with shows like this coming on.
I am so sad! Somehow, I am just now finding out this series is cancelled!! I have been waiting all summer for season 4. Been watching Netflix to “get ready”! I couldn’t figure out why I hadn’t seen any trailers for the “upcoming season”. Truly a bummer!!
I wasn’t surprised the show was cancelled. The last season I didn’t want to watch because the writing went down hill. The show turned into a Hallmark Soap. I would have continued watching the fun characters each week if they hadn’t kept loading each episode with drama and alcoholism, cheating, etc. HALLMARK can do better.
I am very disappointed that Cedar Cove was canceled without bringing endings to the stories. It was my favorite show and I wish you would bring it back to at least tie up the loose ends. . Thank you.
I am very sad not to see itje show renewes or at least given an appropriate ending. I would expect moe from the Hallmark channel.
I am so sad you cancelled Cedar Cove. I love it and I need to know what happens! Please please bring it back!!!
I believe there ought to have been a season 4. I never missed an episode and am very disappointed that the show is cancelled. I most likely will not ever involve myself with a series show again, it’s having to wonder every season if it will be back – especially with no warning. I think the show ought to have wrapped up in the 4th season if cancellation was imminent. I am ticked off with the Hallmark channel. I love Debbie Macomber’s books but will confine myself to the movies as opposed to any more serials. When people follow a… Read more »
Such a shame! What a wonderful series! The only downside was having to wait a whole year for the next season. I’m sure that contributed to the drop in audience. Wish you would do at least one closing episode!
So sad to hear that the show has been cancelled. I was really looking forward to season 4. It was such a refreshing show to watch in comparison to a lot of other series that are currently on. Very disappointed!
I can’t believe you have cancelled Cedar Cove. Just when things could of changed for Olivia! I really liked the thought of her and Paul getting together. Now we will never know! Sad!!!!!
I feel terribly cheated that we won’t know what happens to Olivia!
Great show just finished watching all of them in 5 days on Netflix. I can’t believe you ended it. You leave all of us just lingering for more. I loved reading all the books and watching the series, but to end it there!!! It’s a shame. Even my 16 and 7 year old liked watching it.
!!!!Sad!!!!
