Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:

It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. I think it is rude and terrible what they did to such a faithfull audience…No closure, no ending just left us hanging…It was an absolute wonderful show, even my husband loved it and looked forward to watching it every Saturday night….We watched it from the very first show on till the end of the 3rd season..Why? Had no idea CC was cancelled. Heartbroken! At least have a final two hour to give us closure. My husband wanted to change cable providers,however I could not agree to it because Hallmark was not carried. Never imagined Hallmark would disappoint as it has. So…what was the reason CC was cancelled?
I know I am feeling the same way. I hung on to my provider because I didn’t want to lose Hallmark. I loved Cedar Cove and don’t really care that the actors will be in a variety of shows and movies – it’s Cedar Cove that I want. Hope they don’t get rid of Good Witch…
I’m extremely heart broken I have followed this program from the start and was waiting with great anticipation for the new season. There are very few adult programs to watch that are not filled with such violence and traumatic senseless story lines. I actually went up to the next cable package so it included the Hallmark channel now to my dissatisfaction. I certainlyhope yyou’ll reconsider and bring the show back.

I love Cedar Cove. I feel like I am on vacation while watching it. It feels comfortable watching, almost like reading a good book. Please reconsider cancelling the show.
I am very disappointed this series will not be returning. The seasons were very short and the last one especially left so many unanswered questions. Canceling shows without give the loyal viewers closure seems the be the way of big business TV nowadays. It is getting to the point you might as well shut the TV off and just read for enjoyment. At least there is a real and true end to the story. What a shame!
Absolutely loved this show! Binged watched season 1& 2. Finished 3 and that is it? Seriously? Yes it was wrong to cancel. Love this type of show. no violence or foul language. A real pleasure to view . Please re-think this decision .

I caught this show on Netflix I got hook and loved this show… I’m very mad that this show got cancel leaving millions of loyal fans with no closer to this show…I really think that Hallmark should really consider there decision or maybe next time there million of fans might not trust to watch other shows just to be drop like hot cakes… We don’t care to .see this actors in other shows until you have ended this show properly. I just searched to see when the new Season of Cedar Cove would begin since I haven’t seen any commercials advertising it and am so sad to see that it was cancelled. I thought it was such a breath of fresh air. So tired of seeing shows that contain your typical half-dressed person, explicit language and innuendos. I guess the Hallmark Channel doesn’t appreciate an audience who looks for these types of shows. Sad.

I am disappointed to learn that Cedar Cove was not renewed. I was unaware of its cancellation and was eagerly waiting for the first season 4 episode. I watched this show religiously every week and could not wait to see what turns the town’s citizens lives would take. I believe Hallmark channel miscalculated in not renewing this find show.
