Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

at least give the show closure, don’t leave us hanging. I want more decent shows like this.
If the Hallmark Channel is not willing to bring back Cedar Cove, is there anyway possible for the show to continue with another network? Maybe a Netflix original series? I love this show!
Love your suggestion; yes, can some other network bring it back?
Oh come on…..talk about being left at the alter!!!!! Why are all the decent TV shows cancelled? Not everyone is interested in zombies and drug dealers! This was a show I always looked forward to watching on Saturday nights. Please, please, please give the fans the answer to all the questions.
Tv has so much crap on these days….and every time a great series comes up…then it gets cancelled…i loved that show and i looked forward to seeing it on my tivo after work. Yall should really concider bringing it back
I am very disappointed tho learn Cedar Cove has been cancelled. I had been looking forward to the next chapter of this very enjoyable series. The characters, the story line and the setting were very enjoyable. An ending would have been nice.
Just completed the series on Netflix now in less than a week. Cedar Cove was cozy and entertaining, nonviolent, had relatable, challenging topics about life intertwined with realistic, intelligent and usually kind coping strategies that kept this viewer empathizing with the characters and emotionally tied to the ebbs and flows of believable life situations, gorgeous scenery, too! It is unfortunate that some of the most developed relationships of the series were left in “no-man’s land.” Hallmark, what happens next?

series binge for its mostly dedicated audience.
Was happy to see this on Netflix, so bring back for at least for a wrap up movie. I don’t have cable.so good to see a show with positive values, no car chases and human problems
Why is it that anything worth watching is always cancelled?
This was a really good relaxing show.
It’s ridiculous that they at least didn’t end the show with answers, just left it hanging.
Thanks Hallmark!
I agree with Lori….this was a terrific series and I hope it will return sooner than
later. Please…Please…Please
I didn’t catch the series on Hallmark but did catch it recently on Netflix. I binged watched the series and after the 3rd season googled to see when it was returning, to find out it was cancelled with so many unanswered questions. So disappointed! I really enjoyed the series, scenery, characters and actors of the show. I agree with prior comments to either bring back another season to answer and give closure to the show or a 2 hour special to end the show better. Please, please, please.
I had no idea this wonderful series was cancelled. So disappointed to find this out.
I agree with SCP: at least a two-hour special to close all these unanswered questions would pacify a couple million of us fans. Love the story, setting and characters – it’s unfair for the series to end with no closure!
What a terrible way to end a series…I just found this show on Netflix and binged watched it. I agree with another comment here that suggested a 2 hour special to end the series in a better way. It is very unlike the Hallmark Channel to do this.
