Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

Sad that is cancelled really enjoyed watching it
I love this show. Please bring this show back.
It gets harder and harder to find good family friendly tv. The only criteria the networks use to describe programming is money No wonder more and more people are just not watching anything anymore.
Please continue Cedar Cove! I loved watching Cedar Cove every year. I am so disappointed to hear they cancelled Season 4! There are so many stories they need to wrap up. Please continue the series!!
I’m really sorry that you canceled Cedargrove I too am a big fan and so is my husband and we are sorry that we won’t see anything more of Cedar Grove or the characters and have everything resolved
Hallmark Lost A Viewer
Hallmark lost a viewer. I really loved the show from the first episode. Now they have so many scripted shows on that I will not watch because I don’t want to get invested in a storyline that may never be realized. They may cancel at their whim without finishing out the storyline.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching Cedar Cove. I can’t believe how many series just end with no resolution. I think it is a bit unfair to TV watchers. I am a fan of all the Hallmark shows and series but this one should have been able to resolve all issues before cancellation. As someone else said – a two hour movie to wrap things up is an excellent idea.
Just binge watched this series. Loved it! Bring it back!!
I am very disappointed that the series is canceled. This was one of my favorites. So now we don’t know how it ends. I don’t know if I will watch anymore series on Hallmark because if you’re going to cancel thing without an ending then I’m wasting my time
Please bring Cedar Cove back as a special to wrap up all the characters’ stories. Great show too bad it was canceled.
I loved this series.. so sad that it has ended.. don’t know if I will watch another Hallmark series to be disappointed again. Thought you were the best but….Was looking forward to Chesapeak Shores bug why bother
Hallmark, I suggest you produce a 2 hour movie that will wrap up all the cliffhangers and story lines you left us with last season. Many of us, and there are millions despite what the Nielson ratings report, came back week after week, season after season to watch this great series. Hallmark Network you owe us this request!
I am so sad and disappointed to see that Cedar Cove cancelled. I was looking forward to the season premiere and finding out what happened with all of the story lines. It was a good show with great actors!! Very disappointed!!
Well this is a bummer. I always looked forward to watching this series. Its like reading all but the last few chapters of a great book. Very disapointed. Was looking forward to Hallmarks next series Chesapeak Bay, but now I’m not so sure I should even start watching.
