Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

Agreed! Need more episodes — netflixed hooked me and dying for answers now!!
My daughter asked me which season and episode I was watching. She told me the end would make me angry as the series was cancelled and there was no ending. I thought I had one more episode to watch only to discover that I just watched the last episode. You have to be kidding, hopefully some heads will roll for such a disasterous decision.
I am sorry I did not know about this show sooner. I found it on Netflix and it was great. I was so upset to learn it was cancelled.
It was left on a cliff hanger they should at least finish the story line.
I love this series!!! What a cliffhanger. Please bring it back or finish it with resolve. Thank you.
I love this series as well! We need a season 4 please.
I LOVE this series!! Please rethink the decision to cancel. Cedar Cove is just gaining momentum. People are starting to discover it… especially since it is on Netflix.
Wish they would at least do a special that winds up the story lines. Really dislike shows that are cancelled and leave the fans hanging.
I just finished the last season of Cedar Cove and truly disappointed that there is no Season 4. It was a great show with great actors. The fact it was in Canada was an added bonus. It still has a lot to offer in the storyline. The show ended with no ending. No closure. Please reconsider! It still has a lot to offer the fans.
So disappointed at how viewers were left hanging. Like other comments below, I enjoyed this series, as there isn’t much fit to watch on TV. I doubt I watch any more on Hallmark, if I think think this will happen again. Shame, as it was a really good series. I agree with others, if it can’t be brought back as a series, at least have one more episode tie up loose ends.
I love this show!!! I just found out about it when I read the books. I hope it comes back. I am dying to find out what happens next!
Love this series and is the best on TV. I cant think of why it was cancelled. My mother is 82 years old and we would make a date each week to watch this together. She is heart broken we cant do that. Please bring back. It’s always the really good shows that are cancelled.
Just makes me sad. I want to know what happens next. Please change your minds and bring it back. Just to answer questions….
So sorry to find out the show ended Loved the show would love to see a show/movie to bring the show to a good end especially if Halmark is not bringing it back.
I am really disappointed that there will not be season four of “Cedar Cove”. I just finished watching the series on Netflix and was looking for more episodes. I miss the great actors and scene, and relaxing after stress of every day. Hallmark, please renew the series!.
