Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

Please bring Cedar Cove. It was a great show and I looked forward to it returning every summer. Maybe change the season that’s in. Love this show
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring back Cedar Cove!! We really enjoyed it. Thanks!
Cedar Cove is an important show in this day and age. With Netflix there’s more exposure and new viewers. Perhaps you should reconsider your decision to end the series and place it on Netflix as a regular.
Thanks for leaving us hanging, want to start watching new series, but afraid will end like cedar cove did
I started watching this show over the winter months. I just finished the final episode last night This show needs to come back! I want to know what Olivia says to Paul! I think she tells him that she has feelings! I liked Jack in the beginning but in the 3rd season I couldn’t stand him! PLEASE HALLMARK BRING THIS BACK! Or NETFLIX could pick it up!!!!
I loved Cedar Cove. I would love to see it return or atleast have a movie to tie up loose ends.
Please bring back cedar cove!
Why was Cedar Cove cancelled when there were high numbers of viewers. I won’t be watching any more Hallmark series.
I ALWAYS looked forward to watching Cedar Cove. Instead of cancelling it, why didn’t Hallmark try another time slot, gear up more advertising? It didn’t make any sense – at all!
This was a quality show and I LOVED the setting!
Hallmark, PLEASE BRING BACK CEDAR COVE!
I was really looking forward to season 4! I love, love, love this show. Strong female lead, beautiful setting, romance, drama, supportive community…. so many things to enjoy! Hallmark channel, please reconsider!!!
I loved the show and the characters. I waited in anticipation for season 2 and 3. It’s a family show. There is just hardly anything we can watch on tv these days that is for the whole family. Plus the setting is so great…we all live vicariously through these characters in this wonderful place. The world we live in is so full of negatives. Why take off Cedar Cove and take a breath of fresh air away? If you just advertise more then people would know how great it is and the ratings would go back up.
I don’t understand good shows are very hard to come by. It’s stinks when our love the show the cast etc. The story, plus it’s a good feeling show you walk away with.
Not someone killing someone all the the time. To much of that in the world.
I don’t know why you start a show then just burn it!
At least finish what you started ~
Really miss this show! I know this show aired during the summer months when a lot of people are not watching a lot of TV, But me and my family and friends loved it and always looked forward to watching it! Wish you would bring it back!
I feelin love with Cedar Cove Season 1. And I continued to watch all other seasons. However, a couple of the storylines became a struggle to watch including the two main characters. There was nothing wrong with a small town feeling. Bringing in the big city characters lost me. And relationships failing into the second season was losing me. I look forward to other Hallmark shows.
Bring back.
Loved the show. In this world of violence and bad news, it was a pleasure to lose myself in the lives of those on Cedar Cove. Would like to move there!!!
