Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

i am shocked and disapointed with Hallmark for this decision. They created a product. Asked us to buy in and become stake holders and then took it away and didn’t even give a good reason why. I certainly hope they will reconsider in the future and bring it back.
Left hanging is cruel. A finally should have been scripted.
Disappointed there is no season 4. 🙁
Please bring it back what do we have to do for it to come back.
Just finished season 3 and just found out there is no season 4!! What?? So disappointed. Come on….u can’t leave us on a cliffhanger with Olivia! She and Paul have great chemistry! And I would love to see Warren and Alex together! Another great couple with chemistry!
Just finished the 3rd season of Cedar Cove and now I discovered that they cancelled the series, Really?? What a joke that Hallmark will not have one final episode to tie everything up. This would be like receiving a hallmark card with a great front cover but when you went to open up the card to read the rest, it’s blank! Come on Hallmark, you’re better than that.
Just finished watching Season 3 of Cedar Cove and very disappointed to find out there is not a Season 4. I agree with the other commenters that suggest a movie to tie up the loose ends. Really enjoyed watching Andie MacDowell and the rest of the cast. Please bring it back!
Can’t believe Cedar Cove was cancelled!! Over a million viewers sounds like good ratings to me!! This isn’t the first show that I have invested my time into and had it suddenly end for no good reason!! Sadly, it won’t be the last. Bringing the story to a conclusion would have been the responsible thing to do!! Doesn’t make for good tv. I expected better from Hallmark Channel!!
I miss seeing Cedar Cove- it was a good show and had many great characters- and like all stations, they drop the good shows and keep the bad ones. So sad they do this all the time for ratings. but what about the public- don’t we count? And I love the Hallmark Movie Channel.
I wil miss Cedar Cove and wish it could be back! I’m 61 and grew up in Baton Rouge, LA and it very much brought back wonderful memories. But the show was pure delight, the acting, the plot, the location. Twill sorely miss it and would do all of what I could to see it return. Thank You Hallmark through my life you have contributed to many Hallmark specials and movies. I still buy your card offerings. Thank you!
I was disappointed to hear that Cesar cove was cancelled. Watching Chesapeake Shores but it is no where as good as Cesar Cove. Is there anyway I could find out what happens to everyone that played in the series? Are there books?
I just finished watching all three seasons on Netflix and I’m so disappointed that I can’t watch another episode 🙁 does Olivia stay with Jack?? Does she make a big move and choose Paul instead??? Very very sad that they left it hanging like this
We looked forward to the fourth season of Cedar Cove…it was a family – oriented program, with great characters and very good story lines. Why do the “powers that be” always opt for the more sensational and allow the fine programs to go by the wayside? Hallmark Channel has always been our “go to” station for interesting and entertaining programming. This is a blight on that record in our estimation!
I wish you had decided to make a movie or extended episode to tie up all the story lines instead of leaving us hanging.
It was like a breath of fresh air to watch Cedar Grove after all of the trash tv has to offer. I am disappointed it has been cancelled!
CEDAR COVE WAS ONE OF THE VERY FEW DECENT SHOWS ON TV. IT MODELED HIGH MORALES AND VALUES! I’M SO DISAPPOINTED TO HEAR THAT THERE’S NO MORE CEDAR COVE!!
