Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I thoroughly enjoy this show, it has been like reading a good book, yet better because seeing these great actors and actresses in this beautiful setting is a benefit to the mind as much as the wholesomeness of the show!
Please, please bring it back. I was so looking forward to see how things go for Olivia and the rest ….!!!!
I am so disappointed. This is such a good show. We need to continue with more seasons.
Bring back Cedar Cove give the show a second chance
Both my wife and I screamed NOOOOOOO!!! when we found out no 4th season! I’m from Seattle, now living in Indiana…, and always looked forward with much anticipation to watch Cedar Cove. We will always be in mourning unless Hallmark changes their mind, or does another series with the beauty of The Great Northwest , San Juan Islands, and or B. C. Canada… [: (
Pleeeese!!!
I would love to see Cedar Cove return. It was such a nice show. Hallmark needs more shows like this.
Miss the show. Did move a little slow in the last year of its viewing, but still would have liked to see mkind of closure with it.
Absolutely love Cedar Cove and I am gravely disappointed that it has been cancelled. I feel like a part of the show and I am going to really miss all of the characters who are like family! I pray that there will be a change of heart and the wonderful show of Cedar Cove will return soon.
Sincerely,
Barbara Voage
The show had potential. However it was always just a little shy of real meat in the plot line. The characters were clearly defined and I liked most of them. The weakest link unfortunately was the lead, Andie McDowell. If it were possible to continue without her it might have made it. It’s unfortunate that she is 2 dimensional at best. Her daughter on the show was about the same. In the last episode when Paul professed his love for Olivia, I hoped things might get more interesting. I don’t think it had enough meat in the plot though to… Read more »
Really loved this show. Disappointed that it had to end. It definitely should come back for more seasons!!!!
It’s SAD that this show was dropped. It’s SAD that most networks drop shows that are clean and written for Family Viewing.
I liked Cedar Cove because it was written the way I see family as, not as the newer worldly view is. All the cast of Cedar Cove and the writers did an excellent job and they should all be commended.
Producers and writers- as soon as possible, pleeeeeesaes; return Cedar Cove, with a season 4. It’s a clean series the whole family can watch. And I hust love it!
Thank you, a favorite viewer 2016
please bring cedar cove back. I loved the series and the characters and so looked forward to watching it every week. I am so upset that you cancelled it.
I loved the show. Very disappointed.
I have loved watching Cedar Cove!
The setting is beautiful with episodes so well written with just the right amount of everything a storyline needs.
I am SO disappointed that you have decided to cancel the series. Bad decision!
Please bring it back!
I can’t stand this! I get vested in a program fall in love with it and then they cancel it. YOU BETTER NOT CANCEL WHEN CALLS THE HEART OR I WILL NEVER WATCH THE HALLMARK CHANNEL AGAIN! I don’t get alot of time to watch any programs so when it make the time to watch you better keep it going! Also how are you judging ratings? People tevo, and on demand everything now, maybe people were watching it but later.if the damn Simpsons can go on for 28 years why can’t any of these other programs make it to 5.
it seems on ly the good shows are canceled
