Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

Nooo!!! I just finished watching season three of Cedar Cove. I absolutely love it. I cannot believe it got canceled. Please don’t leave us fans of Cedar Cove hanging. It was a really good show and a lot of us have enjoyed it. If there is anyway to bring it back, PLEASE bring it back!!!
I just watched all three seasons in the last two weeks, just fell in love with the people and the town. Truly sadden to see that you abruptly pulled the plug for season four!! You left “MANY” unresolved relationships with the people we fell in love with. I have always loved Hallmark but I believe I’ll stay clear of all future series that will eventually lead to disappointment. Please FIX the ending, Hallmark!!!!!!
It is unfortunate that 1.6 million viewers don’t have a voice to say what is a we’ll written script with great actors. Instead just keep pumping out one series after another for a buck. Very disappointed
Shame on Hallmark, it is difficult to follow a show when you jack around with it. I made it a point to watch for it, I’m sure others got tired of trying to find it, hence lower ratings. It was fabulous, and once I heard it was cancelled, I decided I would never watch another series on Hallmark. I noticed they started a new one and I said NO THANKS! People invested their time and heart in Cedar Cove and they ended up with nothing. I agree with one writer, the decent thing to do would be to have a… Read more »
I would love to see this show continue. I fell in love with this show and all of its characters. Please please please do a season 4.
Cedar cove was a very family oriented show. The characters were all extraordinary like moon. They will be sorely missed. I would like to see the series come back. I am so sad to hear of the cancellation.
SO Upset! Can’t believe that’s IT! I HAVE TO KNOW……It was such good hearted watching.
Rude!!! I will never watch another Hallmark… you camel at the worst cliff-hanger!!!!
Such a family show – it’s a shame to cancel it and leave some of the filth on!
I hate to start another of the series just to be left hanging on like this. Hallmark channel should make better decisions!!!!
Cedar Cove is the best of the original series and brought me back to the channel. The drop in viewer numbers for every original Hallmark series is the long hiatus periods. 1.62 million viewers is a large number of people to dissapoint. Bring it back long enough to at least finish the storylines. DIissapointed in Hallmark. As a Kansas City native, I can say you damaged your brand.
I am not happy. I caught up on all 3 seasons this year and I have been sitting around waiting for the 4th and now I google it ….and no season 4. I am pissed off. Something I finally liked and your gonna take it off
Would love to see a movie to wrap up the series.
I binged watched all 3 seasons in 5 days – looking forward to season 4 but then found its cancelled ! Oh no !!!! No way !
I found the show late in the game and binged watched all three seasons on Netflix. I enjoyed it so much that I am here online looking up the schedule for season 4 🙁 It would be nice if you just give us a Hallmark happy ending!
Please tell you’ll reconsider! I just finished watching the series on Netflix and my heart just melted when I found out there’s no season 4. It’s sad that such a clean and beautiful series gets cancelled.
