Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:

It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

Such great characters, sets, story etc. Now left undone. Loved the show! Why is hallmark messing with everything that is good? No cedar cove but some of the outdated reruns they have on at night, really??

I loved the series. It was so refreshing to see a television show that was clean and not vulgar. I wish Hallmark would bring the show back.

Loved the book series and enjoyed the show tremendously. Was difficult to get used to the scheduling. Cedar Cove’s season was sporadic at best. I’m not surprised the audience fell off each season after the first… We couldn’t FIND it!!!
Please bring it back. I love it. Its a beautiful show and its a change because the characters are middle age, our age. My coworkers love it too. It’s refreshing, real and different.
Please bring it back. Get rid of “Jack” and bring in a new love interest for Andie MacDowell.

It should be brought back along with the original cast. It was an excellent series that my family looked forward to each week during it’s broadcast season.
I just discovered Cedar Cove and binged it big time! When I got to the end I went straight to the internet o find out when the next season would start and was truly heartbroken to find out it had been cancelled!!! Hallmark needs MORE series, I can’t wait around for a yearly installment of Murder She Baked!!! I think it so sad that networks like Netflix who where made to work outside the box has failed in such a big way and does not listen to the hundreds of posts who feel the same way!!
