Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?
No matter how many views Cedar Cove got, it is completely unfair to just cut off the show with the ending from the last episode of season 3. So many unanswered questions in that last episode. It is ridiculous to cut the show off to the fans that are anxious to know what happens! Do Olivia and Paul end up together or not? There needs to be at least a finale episode giving the previous fans closure. Extremely disappointed in your decision to end Cedar Cove the way you did.
I am SO disappointed! Have been very ill and just got done watching last of season three with such ecitement to keep watching. Beautiful scenery , characters, actors! I honestly can’t believe it was left like that when there could have been so much more! I actually felt so much better as this was a nonviolent, not showing sex and as wholesome show as you can see nowadays. I guess not enough of garbage in it . Sad, sad, sad.
THIS WAS AN ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL SHOW! WISH IT WOULD BACK ON TV!
As I had not watched Cedar Cove when the series first aired, I did find the series on Netflix and watched all 3 seasons. Enjoying the show from the 1st episode I was hooked! Loving the characters and storylines. Each episode brought a smile to my face. It was truly a heartfelt show. I am disappointed that the show did not continue. Id love to see how Grace handled being married to a rancher. Loved to see Olivias relationship grow along with everyone else. Well i guess ill have to buy the books and continue from Graces wedding. I really… Read more »
I would love to see this show continue. The setting, characters and lives were beutifully written out and displayed as a place and people Id love to live and meet.
I hate whenever shows are cancelled and nothing ever said about it. Sad to say this would keep me from watching any more Hallmark shows.
I just found out that Cedar Cove season 4 has been cancelled. I am so very disappointed in the Hallmark channel. I have decided that I will not watch any more TV series if this is how you treat your audience. You could have a least give us final show giving us closure of Ceader Cove and what happened to the characters. Such a pity!
Well that really sucks. We’ve been waiting and wai
Well that really sucks. We’ve been waiting and waiting and waiting for another season. We love these people we love the show I don’t understand! Bring back Cedar Cove! #TheFans
I have just been watching it on Netflix, there is nothing decent on TV any more to watch. Can’t believe you just left everyone hanging.
I am do disappointed the show was canceled and left like that. I was really enjoying it on netflix. This was a bad decision and I strongly feel you should create a last season so the viewers are not disappointed.
I never knew this show existed until recently I just finished season three on Netflix and very sad to see it will not return. I feel like myself others may not of known of the show but probably like myself have found it on Netflix and would be happy to see it return even if it were a neflix series. I lived the show and the feeling of it I hope you change your minds some day and continue cedar cove. To many questions to much left undone.

We truly enjoyed watching Cedar Cove and we looked forward to watching it. We told others about this series, good wholesome, enjoyable series. With great cast. Left us wanting more, unfinished.
I was very disappointed there was not a season 4. Just watched on Netflix. They should have had some kind of an ending. Jack need to move to Seattle and Olivia needed to get together with Paul. Just bummed about the whole thing
Hallmark should have committed to a final show that did not leave you hanging. I will be very careful about investing so much time on an unfinished product. Shame on Hallmark
