NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.
What do you think? Will you miss Chase? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

We only watch Chase on Wednesday nights – we love the show. NBC should keep it. They should air it when other channels are showing their least popular shows.
Keep Chase, cancel Minute To Win It!!!
SO DISAPPOINTED. I was looking forward to a long-term relationship. Consider giving the fans a little time to process this by putting the remaining unaired shows on Hulu.
nbc sucks as does cbs for cutting the unit.you people have no idea what real people want.reality shows suck just like you.
Don’t cancel this program……it is one if the shows I look forward to watching every week….the actors/actresses have great chemistry on screen…..I find the story lines to be a little more believable than the other police shows on tv these days…maybe try a different night and time than the nights that carry the most popular shows…..just a thought!
I love Chase! When I saw the time slot that it moved to, I knew it was doomed. Crazy NBC execs. They love putting shows on that we like only to take them down. There are over 60,000 fans on facebook alone. Goodness please bring it back. Maybe on a better night at a better time.
Chase was great. My wife and I loved watching it and was just starting to get into the various personalities. Absolutely loved it and was disappointed when I heard about its cancellation. Honestly, I believe if more people would see it they would like it.
Chase was one of my most favorite shows on TV. I absolutely hate reality shows and will never watch Minute to Win It. Chase was very well done and had good stories with a very good cast. Bring it back.
Dislike game shows, love Chase. Bring Chase back!
keep chase….i’m so sick of getting used to watching a series to have it cancelled mid season
Since they are canceling Chase, I will no longer invest any time in NBC television shows. They canceled the wonderful show “Life” two seasons ago and the name eludes me (the paramedic one based in San Francisco) without giving it a chance, and there have been others. Their shows need to be nurtured and promoted. Quit moving them around and give them some decent press. Part of the problem was their initial promotion of Chase. The ads were horrible and did nothing to really explain what the show was about. I gave it a chance anyway, and I found it… Read more »
I enjoy watching Chase. It was a great show to watch after a long first day of work. I looked forward to it every week. I liked how the characters got along and acted with each other. The character Annie Frost was great to watch. Please do not cancel this show.
I really liked chase… Please bring it back!!!!
Chase was a great replacement for FOX’s 24 please bring Chase back.
Chase was the best. The show was great, the characters believeable, the settings realistic. They put it up against two shows of the same genre- Castle, an established detective show, and that jerk of a show on CBS (I despise it so much I can’t even say the name). What did they expect? Then they put it up against two hot comedies. Chase is a Saturday night show. Pure and simple. All the more reason why NBC is a dying network. If they would stop pandering to idiots, they would realize that there is a more than ample group of… Read more »
