NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.
What do you think? Will you miss Chase? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

Chase is one of my favorite tv shows. Its action-packed from the beginning. Please bring it back. Try Tuesday or Thursday for the last five episodes. Wednesday nights are bad. People are in church. Can’t explain why the ratings are down because its a great show.
I CAN’T BELIEVE THEY ARE GOING TO CANCEL CHASE..OUR FAMILY JUST LOVES IT…THEY TAKE OFF THE GOOD STUFF AND LEAVE THE GARBAGE ON. THE LEAD ACTRESS AND THE REST OF THE CAST ARE JUST GREAT TO WATCH. SO SHAME ON NBC!!!! BRING IT BACK!!!!!
You know, I watch CHASE via hulu. I wonder if in the past couple years as people like myself watch NBS/CBS/ABC/FOX over the air and online (like hulu). I wonder if those viewings are not counted… I think the TV networks need to take a broader look at viewings to include delayed viewings. They still get advertising dollars via hulu 24hrs after it airs.
Wow, I’m so disappointed, Chase is one of my favorite shows. I don’t understand why the ratings are so low, I think the female lead is a very compelling character. I guess there isn’t enough character development around her.. but still shocked.
i want chase back minite 2 win it sucks ass u stink cw if it was for d the new law an order svu id stop watching ur channel their the only gd shows yall had
i ment nbc
PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL CHASE!!! Even when I am unable to watch it on its scheduled night it is the FIRST THING I LOOK FOR ON MY DVR!!!! LOVE THIS SHOW!!! Please give it a chance!!! Remember how bad the ratings were for The X-Files in their first year? It went on to be a cult phenomenon! KEEP CHASE!!!
Chase is one of my favorite shows that i watch every week! Please don’t cancel Chase!
If not, at least air the last five episodes!
I think these shows haven’t succeeded because these networks move them around so much. I have to DVR everything because I never know when it is going to be on. It gets changed so much. I think they need to keep this show.
I loved Chase and in have only seen
Min. To Win a couple of times. Definately prefer Chase.
I am member of the 18-39 year old audience and I love this show. Please NBC don’t cancel it!! Or at least close out the season or make it an online show that we can view on NBC site.
We never missed an episode!!! We as a family love chase and don’t even want to watch nbc at all anymore. How can someone not like the show??? Poor choice nbc!!
I will definately miss Chase. My husband and I sat down to watch it every week. Hopefully the network will change it’s mind and bring it back.
Please don’t cancel this show. It is one of my favorites!!!
I am bummed! Chase is a good show. I looked forward to every episode. The acting was real and the characters interacted well. I am very disappointed 🙁
I taped what I thought was Chase because my tv guide said it was on…boy did I get a surprise when I went to watch it. 🙁
