NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.

NBC neess to let the show continue it’s episodes – not every minute of TV time can be devoted to reality and game shows. Although NBC seems to be giving that a try. Chase is sold story making, a great way to spend an hour. Leave it alone!
I can’t believe they cancelled Chase. Absolutely loved the show. I wouldn’t even consider a minute to watch “Minute to Win It”. I agree with other comments, this is a stupid show. NBC must want people with no intelligence to watch its shows.
Please keep Chase! We love it. Stories are exceptional and action-driven, edge-of-your-seat exciting! What can we do to keep Chase? We lost Jimmy Smits….don’t take Chase too!!
Great show!! The only one I watched on NBC and now they are taking it off? Make some money on it and sell it to a network that knows how to make good shows work!!
I’m sad… I enjoyed Chase a lot… I will miss it if it never comes back.

Please bring this show back. My family loved this show and we are so tired of only seeing game shows or reality shows. This was one show that we actually got into and then you first move the night it is on and then it is not on at all. It would be great if you would bring this back and I hope that someone takes the time to read what the viewers have written.
I loved the last two episodes of Chase! The fact that TV has become such a numbers game is disappointing. Maybe networks need to actually start caring more about putting good shows on TV instead of the almighty dollar so much – more along the lines of Oprah’s new network.
I love Chase ! The characters are great and it’s fast paced. PLEASE, someone pick this up and get it back on the air. Too many Reality shows !

Note to all Network Execs: Lose the Reality shows, scripted shows like Chase leave a message that resonates. “Break the law and Annie will be there to throw you in jail where you belong!” I want to be on Annie’s side.
Take some of the reality shows off the tv. We really love watching some of the well written shows, like Chase. I loved watching the Unit, then off it goes for another crazy show about “real Life”. Most of the time it is NBC that does these crazy shifts in time slots and never gives the time for a fan base to build. Monday night was terrible because of sports, so why not thursday after CSI. Hopefully USA will pick up this wonderful series. And now, NBC, you have lost another person to watch your network.
I love this show. Please bring it back. It was the only good show on Wednesday nights.
Come on NBC. Give us some credit. There still are people who want their mind challenged. Chase is a well-written, great acted action series that deserves more than you have given it. Please continue the show!
I cannot believe that NBC is cancelling another show but they will leave foolishness on today. Chase is intelligent, believable and packed with action. I love it – this is sad. I am not a big fan of Comcast, but anything has to be better than NBC.
