Cheer Squad comes from Corus Entertainment’s ABC Spark and Good Human Productions. Claire Freeland is executive producing for Good Human. The first season of Cheer Squad features 10 hour-long episodes. Scheduling note: In Canada, Cheer Squad premieres Wednesday, July 6 at 9:00pm ET, on ABC Spark.

(Toronto, ON) Corus Entertainment’s ABC Spark and Good Human Productions announced today that production has commenced on the new docu-reality series, Cheer Stars (working title) in Cambridge, Ontario. The 10 x 60 series follows the two-time World Champion All Star, All Girl cheerleading team, The Great White Sharks, as they gear up to defend their title and pursue the coveted three-peat. Cheer Stars is slated to premiere in Summer 2016 on ABC Spark in Canada and in the U.S. on ABC Family (to be renamed Freeform in January 2016).

Cheer Stars captures the passionate, smart and driven athletes of the reigning World Champion cheerleading team as they sweat, fight and sparkle their way through the dramatic 2015/2016 cheer season. As elite athletes idolized by thousands with an intense training schedule, the girls rely on each other to make it through every grueling practice as well as the day-to-day pressures of schoolwork, relationships and part-time jobs that they face off stage.
