Dick Wolf is taking over Chicago. The Wrap reports NBC is open to more Chicago Fire spin-offs.
In addition to Chicago Fire, there are currently two other series in the procedural franchise—Chicago PD and Chicago Med. A fourth, Chicago Justice, has already been ordered.
At the TCA summer press tour, NBC boss Bob Greenblatt said he trusts Wolf:
Every time I think Dick Wolf has finished, he comes up with a new idea. More often than not, he proves me to be wrong. … I will never count Dick Wolf out … that’s a long-winded way of saying, ‘I don’t know” if there will be another “Chicago” show.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of Wolf’s Chicago franchise? Would you like another spin-off?
I think that if Dick Wolfe does another spinoff it’s probably going to be a “Fire” spinoff, and will feature Kelly Severide and the Office of Fire Investigation. Chicago OFI … at least that’s what I think, what with all the investigating that he’s done this season.
Please don’t bring back Chicago Justice
I like the Chicago franchise that they were good when it was crossover with each of them.
Hasn’t he covered all the bases already? What could be next? Meter maids? Postal workers? Know when enough is enough
Enough is enough. I love Chicago Fire and Chicago Med. Chicago PD I could take or leave. You feel like you have to watch them all because they intertwine with each other so much that if you don’t, you miss something and then there are the cross over events, so NO MORE!
I watch all the Chicago series form Dick Wolf (will be watching Chicago Justice as well); I always ask myself ‘Where in God’s name does he get these ideas from’, I am OBSESSED. But I think because he covered the essentials in Chicago, I think it will slowly get overplayed.
I think he should explore a new city, new adventures. Other than that…. DICK WOLF ROCKS!!!!!
