Compared to last year’s Law & Order: SVU’s season premiere in the same timeslot, the network was down by 21% in the demo (vs a 2.4 rating) and down by 16% in viewership (vs 7.63 million). This certainly wasn’t a great start for a new series. On the positive side, almost everyone who started watching the pilot episode stuck with it until the end. That’s kinda rare these days, particularly for a 10pm show. Next week’s numbers should be very telling.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Chicago Fire TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
My wife and I love this show! We are from the Chicagoland area and can relate to the characters and locations. The actors do a great job of portraying Chicagoans. They remind me a lot of my union electrician co-workers. Keep up the great work, and please don’t cancel our favorite show.
Love this show!
My husband and I love this show… Please don’t cancel it!!
This is one of the only shows my husband and I both enjoy, please don’t cancel it.
This is a great show and should not be canceled. PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEASE.
Just found out one of my shows The Last Resort was cancelled. One of the best shows on this season. The other is Chicago Fire. I hope NBC doesn’t make the same stupid mistake that ABC has made!
Irony of what your saying is that Last Resort was attempting to be a High brow show for mass consumption. Chicago Fire is just a Procedural about Fire Fighters thats nothing special. Which is basically why Broadcast TV is a sinking ship.
LONG LIVE QUALITY SCRIPTED CABLE PROGRAMMING.
All of us here LOVE this show please keep it on….PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!
Love Chicago Fire TV show especially Casey!!!
Renewed.. best show ever
Love this show!
I only watch this show because I’m from Chicagoan. It is uber fake and very un Chicago.
They also find a way to make the Chicago Police Department look like a joke in every episode. This show won’t make it in the long run.
I love this show! Please bring it back for another season.
this is the best show…please keep it going
[…] folks at NBC make particular mention of 30 Rock, Animal Practice, Chicago Fire, Dateline, Go On, Grimm, Guys with Kids, Law & Order: SVU, The New Normal, The Office, […]
I am a firefighter and I love this show, I like it more than rescue me they need to let it play out and see where things go. Bring out a 2nd season and let it work it’s course, new shows like this take time to attract people and who could go wrong its written by dick wolf.
