TV show description:
The fourth series in Dick Wolf’s Chicago franchise, the Chicago Justice TV show follows the prosecutors and investigators who make up the State’s Attorney’s team. In order to pursue justice, these professionals must negotiate the choppy waters of city politics.
Armed with a resolute respect for the law, they work the Windy City’s most consequential cases. Often under intense media scrutiny, the team must be mindful of both prevailing community sentiment and political power grabs.
The ambitious Peter Stone (Philip Winchester) is the dogged Deputy Chief of the Special Prosecutions Bureau. To him, the quest for justice is more than a job; it’s a purpose.
A single-minded man, Stone often goes head-to-head with Mark Jefferies (Carl Weathers). As Cook County State’s Attorney, Mark must be politically minded. While his mantra is that a good prosecutor gives the jury and the public a well-defined narrative, Peter believes the law is not always best served by crisp sound bites.
Despite their differences, Stone and Jefferies aspire to usher in a new age of justice to the City by the Lake. Their team includes the ardent Assistant State’s Attorney, Anna Valdez (Monica Barbaro). Still new enough to be malleable, Anna will bend the rules to get the proper results.
There’s also the tenacious Laura Nagel (Joelle Carter). This empathetic State’s Attorney Investigator looks at her cases through the victims’ eyes.
Finally, there is Chief Investigator Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda). A former by-the-book detective in the Chicago P.D.’s intelligence unit, Antonio worked his way up to the State’s Attorney’s office.
Series Finale:
Episode #13, “Tycoon”
Stone, Valdez, Nagel and Antonio go after a billionaire real estate tycoon who may be responsible for his son-in-law’s sudden death at a construction site. (Courtesy NBC.)
First aired: May 14, 2017.
What do you think? Do you like the Chicago Justice TV show? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a second season on NBC? Tell us.
No way!!! Can’t believe they canceled the show Dick Wolfs Chicago series shows are the best out there and the show needs to come back maybe on a different night it would do better. NBC please reconsider
Love all the Chicago shows but Justice became my favorite and can’t believe it has been cancelled. Please give it another try.
Oh, come on! This is disgusting. Chicago Justice needs to stay!! The second show (Pure Genius being the first) not being renewed that was far above the quality of the Dancing with…Bachelorette….Singing Voices…reality shows that are remaining and even multiplying. How shallow of you to take it off! You fit right in with the dumbing down of America.
No!!!!! I love it. As far as I’m concerned these realality shows needs to be yanked off the channels..Everyday is a reality show all you have to do is watch the news. I had rather watch the all day news channels even Soap Operas are 10X’s better. Give us something better to watch every time something decent show comes on you yank it, giving some of us time to get interested . So yank reality and leave well enough a lone. LEAVE CHICAGO JUSTICE ALONE! ITS THE ONLY SHOW THAT FINISHES THE END OF WHATS HAPPENING AT THE END OF… Read more »
Please renew this great show in the Chicago series. We watch all of them and love them all.
Sorry to read NBC just cancelled Chicago Justice so won’t be back for a 2nd season. Although it wasn’t anywhere near the level of the other Chicago series (PD, Med, Fire), I thought it was decent and would eventually gather a following. Helped the writers occasionally incorporated connections to the other Chicago series programs (especially PD), but think it was hurt by bad time slot on Sunday evening. Would have been interesting to have seen what ratings would have been had it been scheduled on a weekday after Chicago Fire, PD or Med. My guess is would have had enough… Read more »
CANCEL PLEASE, There is nothing I like about this show at all
It should have been cancelled before the first episode. the teasers were just plain awful, the black and white prosecutors were pompous. That “you are great Americans” opening argument the jury was horrendous. Simply put, the most unlikable lead character in a TV series since Dick Wolf cast that ugly wench and failed rap artist in SVU. Wolf did much better with PD, MED and FIRE.
This is the third time NBC has killed Philip Winchester’s career. (First time: Crusoe. Second time: The Player.) Too bad because Winchester was excellent in Strike Back. I hope he returns to cable and finally gets a new series worthy of him.
Love this show and love the Chicago scenes. Please, please renew it!
This is a great show don’t cancel it
It’s a great show!
Please renew it!
Love it-best in series-please renew-love all of them-only shows on tv we look forward to!
This show is a lot fun. I have watched every episode and look forward to more.
I love this show. Can’t wait for Sunday night. The characters are compelling. Please renew it.
I thoroughly love the show. It’s a perfect addition to the “Chicago” series. I enjoy the crossover of characters and the issues that are followed through from police to the courtroom. Always interesting cases and always interesting how the law is interpreted!.
Love the show, please don’t cancel. It would be a shame to remove a vital part of the “Chicago” episodes.
I would like to see more episodes detailing the continual issues arising between the police and the lawyers.
