It looks like Coach Hayden Fox is staying in retirement. Despite giving the Coach revival sitcom a 13 episode straight-to-series order in March, NBC has now cancelled their plans for the project.
Dateline reports that the decision follows rumblings of creative differences on the sitcom. Only a pilot episode was filmed. While Craig T. Nelson had a deal to be paid for all 13 episodes, the rest of the cast — Andrew Ridings, Malcolm Barrett, Morgan Smith, and original series cast member Bill Fagerbakke — will only be paid for the pilot.
It’s not clear as yet if the producers will try to shop the series elsewhere.

I was sick during the 90’s and didn’t watch TV but now have watched Coach reruns over and over through the years. I would definitely be excited to see some new Coach — But I would miss Shelley if she’s not there.
Love Coach. Still watch the RE-runs over and over. Wish they would have given it a try. The current sitcoms aren’t nearly as good. Especially on NBC
Please bring it back even if it the reruns everyone still watches Full House over and over bring this one back always made me smile
I think they definitely made a mistake. I watched Coach on TV sporadically because I was young, but did watch a lot of the episodes in syndication. I re-watched them all on Netflix a couple years ago and I am watching them again now from my own collection. For a 9-season, twice-emmy-award-winning, multiple ASCAP awarded show, leaving the reboot to get dusty was quite an odd thing to do.
