Last month, CBS execs ordered six additional scripts for new medical drama Code Black. They apparently won’t be needing one of them. The network has now decided to produce five more episodes, bringing the first season tally to 18 installments.
Code Black takes place in an Emergency Room in Los Angeles where underfunding and understaffing pile huge pressure on its staff. The cast includes Marcia Gay Harden, Raza Jaffrey, Bonnie Somerville, Melanie Chandra, William Allen Young, Harry Ford, Benjamin Hollingsworth, and Luis Guzman.
Per the live + same day ratings, Code Black has been averaging a 1.23 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.92 million viewers. The Wednesday night drama is the network’s 13th highest rated scripted series (out of 18) in the key demo.

I hope they do renew Code Black even though it is on at 10pm, pass my bed time, I still record it so I can watch it on the weekend. I am a retired vol firefighter and like to watch this show.
As an RN of 43 yrs I can attest to the enjoyable qualities of this show. It deserves to return when so much other drivel goes on and on and on endlessly.
Absolutely LOVE Code Black. Watch it and record it, just in case, every week. Please don’t cancel it. My daughter is a faithful viewer too. She even thinks it is better than Greys Anatomy.
I hope they bring it back. But I just saw “Mother” on a new HBO show being advertised.
I hope Code Black comes back awesome show miss it.
Please continue Code Black. It’s a great show. I watch it and record it for my grandson (who wants to become a doctor since watching this show) so that he can watch it on Friday nights or Saturday afternoons (comes on too late during the school week). As a matter of fact, my neighbors on my entire block watches the show. I suggest that you find a way to tally how many people record this show to watch later when they are unable to watch it at the allotted time.
Love Code Black
YES YES YES You MUST continue this show!!!!!!!
