Episode 18 — Unfinished Business
When a longtime outspoken critic of the Equal Rights Amendment passes away and his wife prepares to take over his Congressional seat, Mac sees the opportunity to amend the Constitution and finally pass the ERA. Meanwhile, she prepares to participate in a previously scheduled “Get Out the Vote” event with Templeton, which turns into more of a presidential debate. On the home front, Rod is approached about doing a story on his relationship with Mac — a Presidential marriage — and it turns out Kelly has a past with the writer. Rebecca continues her relationship with her IM buddy, but they’re each shocked at the other’s identity when they meet in person. And the differences between Mac and Dickie’s beliefs become glaringly apparent.
First aired: June 14, 2006.
I agree. This show was awesome.
Made me wonder if our next change should be Female?
I just stumbled on to this show and fell in love with it. Geena Davis is Awesome as President, and doesn’t take no for an answer. Id vote for her. I wish they would bring this series back, way better than the West wing. We need more of these kind of shows. Watching Geena in action makes you think that maybe someday there could be a woman Prsident, and give hope to this Country.
BRING BACK COMMANDER IN CHEF. THE BEST TV SERIES IN A LONG! LONG! TIME. IF GEENA DAVIS WAS RUNNING FOR OFFICE I WOULD VOTE FOR HER. DONALD SUTHERLAND HIS BEST PERFORMANCE. THE ENTIRE CAST OUTSTANDING!! THE STORY BASE BELIEVABLE AND SO ENTERTAINING. WAY BETTER THEN OTHER TV SHOWS. DONT THROW US A BONE THEN TAKE IT AWAY.THANKS TO STREAMMING I FOUND THE EPISODES. I WILL BE BUYING THE DVD AND HOPE FOR SEASON TWO.
Iwatched it again and again on DVD and wish to know if a season 2 or a movie sequel was made. The writers and producers were really good. Even better than the West Wing.
Col Tin Maung Aung » Neither was ever made. Season one was it.
I recently revisted this show in its entirety. It was well written, the acting was good and commendable, character development was also on point, and cinematography was well thought out for a television series. The plot was more modern and riviting than West Wing.
There was and is not any obvious reason for its cancellation. Who has to hear from the public to bring this series back. It was truely a loss not to pick this show back up.
does anyone know if there was a 2hr tv movie made following the cancellation of this show? ive read multiple interviews from geena davis dated back from 2006 that this was in production but i cant find any information on the movie or verification that the movie was indeed made. thanks to anyone with any information
I don’t care whether she was a woman or a man… She showed courage and conviction. I’d vote for her every day. Great writers! Maybe they should run for office. Enjoyed the series immensly.
i would love to see Commander in Chief tv series.to come back soon.
Watched the series in dvd several times already, and i still enjoy it. That’s how good it is. I really hope that the producers of Commander in Chief will start filming new episodes soon.
cool tv series
Just watched every episode. It was great! Gena davis and the whole cast! Bring it back!
I LOVED this show. Geena Davis was awesome. The story lines had real breadth and depth and portrayed a fictional character that is worth emulating in real life. The content of the episodes and Geena Davis’ portrayal gave young women in America a new dream. What a shame the series was canceled and how ironic the final episode was about the relevance of passing the ERA. It goes to show men do run the world and women are still second class citizens. Where’s that petition?
A petition for the return of this show is a great idea. Consider me as a signer. Only thing is they need to reduce the “previous show recap” and include more current segment drama.
My wife and I enjoyed this new series.
Reminds us of The West Wing.
We were very dissappointed when they cancelled it.
Let’s start a petition to relaunch the series!
What a shame this show ended. It was interesting to watch. A women in the White House with Class..Geena surprised me. This showed her real talent.. Why did it end? She made women who actually would run look small. Sure missit! Great writting team..
