Now that NBC has officially passed on ordering a second season of Constantine, the TV show can be shopped to other outlets. Based on the tweets of showrunner Daniel Cerone, it sounds like The CW may be a potential buyer.
After William Shatner suggested that Constantine would be a good fit on The CW, Cerone retweeted the message and added “I believe the Capt is onto something. #SaveConstantine #Hellblazers”
Cerone noted that “We were in play at NBC until today. Studio actively selling show now. Actors under contract thru June. … We intend to make something happen. Don’t blink. #Constantine #Hellblazers @CW_network @Mark_Sheppard”
He continued, “For those asking what they can do to help, make noise and BUILD FANS. All eps of #Constantine STILL streaming. Bear in mind, #Constantine ratings low for NBC but would constitute a hit at many networks. Fearless faith. #SaveConstantine #Hellblazers”
It would seem that The CW could be an ideal home for the series. Constantine is a Warner Bros TV show and the studio co-owns the CW network. Next season, they’ll already have three other shows based on DC Comics characters and also have a few dark supernatural programs. Could they have too much programming? We’ll have to wait and see.
What do you think? Would you watch a second season of Constantine on The CW?
Bring my show back! The CW would be a good fit. NBC wasn’t giving the show justice with poor time slot and day. Also the CW network could use a show like constantine to give the station a jump so to speak. I also feel that the network would promote it better. With shows like the vampire diaries and the originals, constantine would be right at home. Put it on monday or tuesday, possibly wedneday and boom success. It’s a good show with chances of becoming great if just given a chance. Come on who watches a lot of tv… Read more »
I hope some network like the CW picks u Constantine!!! NBC missed the boat on this great show and look at some of the losers it kept. Seriously????????????
i said it before and I’ll say it again maybe Netflix could pick up Constantine and Re-Brand it as HellBlazer now that would be amazing! Look at what they did with DareDevil!
Definitely keep Constantine. This shoe would be a great fit!! With Arrow being lacking in something and Flash being weak, Constantine could keep those shoes going IF CW wants to keep them!
yes
I think they should have put it on the CW in the first place then it would have been picked up for season 2 right away look at SuperNatural it’s in Season 10 although I think it’s been on too long but the CW gives shows a chance and gives them the opportunity to get better and get more ratings and doesn’t just cancel it right away after only 13 Episodes I think that was a huge mistake giving us only 13 episodes in season one there’s more to the story and so much more to do and they planned… Read more »
I always wanted this show to cross over with Grimm. On Grimm, they always implied there was more out there than just Wesen… ghosts and such, too. So it would’ve made perfect sense for Grimm to have both a demon problem and a certain blond troublemaker all at the same time.
Ah well. I watched this on NBC and I’ll watch it on The CW, too, if it goes there. Stephen Amell pitched an Arrow/Constantine crossover in an effort to help save the show. Pretty cool of him to do that.
Donna you could watch it straight from the CW Website and there are other sites like http://watch-tv-series.to/ it has Constantine so you could watch it there and you’d still be able to watch it because The CW is a basic cable so you wouldn’t need to have a specialty to channel in order to watch it. I guess it depends on where you live but the point is you’d still be able to watch it and it would be online too which in a way is nice because you can boycott the channel and watch it online instead. A Constantine/Arrow… Read more »
I think Constantine will make a great fit on the CW network along with shows like Supernatural , The Flash.
Yes, definitely would watch second season on CW.
Here in Canada Constantine was shown on Globalwest Productions. Sell the show here it does have a following. Maybe then it will sell state side. Please we must know what happens next.
has a fan of Constantine I am happy is if the CW picks up the it will fit in just right the Supernatural, etc… Thank you CW.
I love Matt Ryan as John Constantine!
He is awesome. I hope they don;t cancel the show. Bring it to another network like CW and air it on another day like monday, tuesday or wednesday and boom success.
I think Constantine would be awesome on the CW they already have Supernatural and it’s been on for 10 seasons now, maybe if they went to the CW in the first place we would have gotten 22 episodes in Season 1 instead of 13 and it probably would have been picked up for a season 2 right away. I’d totally watch it on the CW but I was thinking SyFy or Netflix could pick it up too but the CW makes more sense since WB Co-Owns it.
I am glad that you are renewing the tv shows
Constantine, Stalker and Forever… all the shows deal in something other than “stupid” & “mindless”. Personally I like the “what if?” shows. I’ve boycotted networks before, I’ll do it again. All 3 would be a great fit at the CW. Supernatural, also dealing in the “what if” has an extremely loyal fan base. I only started watching it on a fluke (nothing else on at a time when I wanted to watch something on TV) and quickly it became one of my “must watch” shows. Please, please think about bringing some great new blood in. All three aforementioned shows would… Read more »
It seems that anything with supernatural aspects get canned. I like these shows especially Forever
This ridiculous ,CW won’t pick up Consatine. Its too exspensive, thier schedules already jam packed and CW prez he didn’t want to/wouldn’t go “all genre all the time”plus four DC comic book series on Czw is enough/more than enough and finally mostly because if tins not CBS or WB ” in house” oened& produced,CW won’t touch it.Iwish the people on twitter that started this would stop giving fans false hope.
Yes!
Sad that NBC cancelled this because if it moves to CW, I won’t be able to watch this online unless Hulu carries this. I am so sick and tired of many of the networks cancelling my favorite shows and keeping on the crud. I am at the point where I don’t care if I watch any of the networks lately. After the season finales of the ABC shows I like, I am done watching any more of that network since they cancelled “Forever” and ” Revenge”. I love “Scandal” and some of the other shows but I will let them… Read more »
The CW posts all of the episodes online on their website, where you can stream them shortly after they air on tv.
