Fans of Syfy‘s Continuum have been waiting to find out the fate of the series. The show hasn’t been renewed yet — but it hasn’t been cancelled either.
Continuum revolves around a female police officer (Rachel Nichols) from the year 2077 who ends up being transported back to 2012 with a group of rebels. The cast also includes Victor Webster, Erik Knudsen, Stephen Lobo, Roger Cross, Lexa Doig, Tony Amendola, Omari Newton, Luvia Petersen, Jennifer Spence, and Brian Markinson.
The show’s official Twitter feed recently announced that series creator Simon Davis Barry would be doing a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) in the near future — “as a thank you” to the fans.
A follower asked if this “thank you” was meant as a goodbye to the series. The response was “Hell no! ;)”.
In the past several weeks, Barry and writer Denis McGrath have both indicated that a decision would be coming “soon.” Hopefully “soon” will be soon.
The third season of Continuum finished airing in late June of this year. Here in the US, on Syfy, the season was down by 30% year-to-year in viewership.
What do you think? Do you like the Continuum TV show? Are you hoping for a fourth season?
12/8 update: The series has been renewed for a fourth and final season.
Please oh please do not cancel this show! SciFi shows in general cancel on me leaving great stories unfinished. It leaves me irritated at this broken system of corporate greed with an unreliable system of ratings with so many platforms of access to these shows
Truly hope the series continues. My high school social studies class introduced me to the show on a free day on YouTube and I was hooked.
Just got into this series a week ago and finished it to the latest. This series definitely needs a fourth season! The network, SyFy has too many cheesy and bad acting TV shows; Continuum is basically the light at the end of the tunnel for SyFy. THE GOLDEN GRAIL lol. Sinceriously, renew it.
Great series. Would suck if they ended it the way they did!
This is the only interesting Sci Fi TV series that’s on TV right now… or was. I fully support Continuum and encourage the powers to be to allow more Seasons for all lovers of intelligent and exciting Sci FI!
hope they will do a fourth season. I think it is an awsome series.
Continuum is like my favorite show of all time and I’ve been watching since the 1950s. I surely want it to continue…um… but only if they don’t punk out on the intricacy of the story. [spoiler alert] like WTF is the goal of the squad of future soldiers who appear in response to the beacon? surely Kellogg is on on their hit list. hmm, or maybe they are his ultimate protectors. I love time travel fantasy regardless of how impossible it is to manipulate the flow of time. B^}
There has to be a fourth season! This show is too good!
Such innovative awesemness! Lovin’ this show thanks to Netflix. Need more! Such a unique concept and solid acting chops… more intellegent time travel SciFi! ReNEW! NoW!
Love it. Bring it back & not some stupid time like you did with Haven another great show that you messed up. What is SyFy thinking?,
Love the show its outstanding! Each and every episode gets me more and more hooked.
Gives back to the future a whole new meaning.. Do I want it renewed? That is a resounding HELL
YA.! ! !.
Love this show – wish it wasn’t on Syfy though. Found it on Netflix a month ago and have already turned a bunch of people onto it and watched all three seasons. I gave up on Syfy channel a few years back – there is barely science fiction on the channel, more like the horror-fantasy channel.
KEEP it alive!!! part pure techy science fiction, police drama, political commentary, it’s the whole package!
Yes we need to see more. How else are we going to learn how to fight corporate takeover of government and everything….. Wait this show is fiction, isn’t it?
This show has been compulsive viewing since the first season. Quite simply it would be a real pity not to see the whole intended story reach its natural end. Bring on season 4! Please!!
Please renew this show, it’s intelligent and imaginative. We need more shows to stay on air like this one. The face of tv is loosing imagination and drive. It’s being lost under the mindless reality shows flooding the market.
I couldn’t agree more with the comment above, reality TV is so naff I can’t believe people watch it almost religiously week by week. TV over the years has become lazy from the producers point of view, reality TV is cheap to produce and if people are willing to watch it I’m afraid it will remain on our screens.
