CBS has moved CSI: Crime Scene Investigation to Sunday nights at 10pm this season — typically a sign that a show is on its way out. But, could the ratings turnaround and start to rise? Will the venerable series be renewed for a 16th season or will this be the end? Stay tuned.
The original CSI continues to follow Las Vegas crime scene investigators as they try to solve bizarre cases. This season’s castmates are Ted Danson, Elisabeth Shue, George Eads, Jorja Fox, Eric Szmanda, Robert David Hall, Wallace Langham, David Berman, Elisabeth Hamois, and Jon Wellner.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/13 update: CSI: Crime Scene Investigation has been cancelled but will wrap up with a TV movie.
Final season averages: 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.26 million total viewers.

Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a couple weeks later.
For comparisons: The 14th season of CSI averaged a 1.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.93 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the CSI TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a 16th season?
Hate to burst everyone bubbles, but it was indeed canceled. 15 years is plenty. Averaging a 1.1 for a series finale is pathetic.
No, I just wish it has around 15 more episodes to wrap up the series for real. I’m serious. They just cannot cancel “CSI” without a real series finale. But if they DID cancel “CSI” for real (which will be nothing but a tragic disservice), they’d consider bringing it back for a limited run down the line, just like NBC’s planning to do with the original “Law & Order”. They need to have at least ONE show of the CSI Franchise have a proper series finale, and the original deserves it most, because it helped bring the CBS Network back… Read more »
The final episode was title ” The End”. Ratings stink this season. CBS dose not due final seasons ever for shows that it owns.
Actually, it’s “End Game” (I know, same thing). The poor ratings this season is just a wake-up call for CBS to just start doing “final seasons” for just their TOP-TIER owned shows, but not exactly ALL of them. What if “NCIS” (the network’s current top drama) ended without a proper “Final season”/”Series finale”? “Hawaii Five-0” is network-owned, but it was never a “top-tier” show, so I wouldn’t care if there was a series finale for that show or not. “The Good Wife” isn’t top-tier either, but the show’s crew doesn’t plan on running it past season 7 (which is next… Read more »
Well considering it moved to Sunday nights and the first couple of episodes were moved because of sports I just recorded everything since why bother looking for something I know the network is gonna move yet again.
I’ve been watching this show since season one and I didn’t even give have so much a qualm when they made changes with the cast and everything. I was so scared when I found out that they cut back on the episodes because I thought it was getting cancelled! I literally cried! It felt like I was losing an old friend. Please please PLEASE keep the show running please!
I love the show, please renew it for a 16th season.
CSI should have never been moved to Sunday night. Every since you have moved it to Sunday night, it either does not show on time and then were gone to sleep or it does not air at all because these games run into overtime. Moving this show to Sunday night was the worst thing CBS could have done. This was an excellent show and now know one watches it because they put it on a bad day of the week. Please switch back to Weds nights
During last night’s (2-10-2015) original airing of “NCIS”, CBS ran an on-screen “eye-liner” promo for the “series finale” of “CSI:”, which is to air this Sunday (2-15-2015). The CBS Executive Vice President of Communications (via his Twitter account) admitted that the “series finale” promo was actually a mistake.
I really hope that it will be renewed. It’s a shame that both the excellent CSI NY and CSI Miami are gone so please keep CSI for some more seasons.
I totally agree! I will say that I don’t miss CSI Miami but really miss CSI New York and will be heartbroken if CSI is cancelled!
I have watched this series since the very beginning and have remained a loyal viewer through all of the changes. I frequently cite this show in my discussions with my advanced biology students. As a result, this show has inspired a number of my students to pursue forensic science. Please don’t cancel. RENEW! RENEW! RENEW!
CSI has become a classic. I really hope the show gets renewed!
The show should be renewed. Putting a show on after Sunday football doesn’t make any sense and isn’t fair from a ratings perspective. I am a CSI fan, but I don’t want to wait past 10:30pm to watch it. I see that when you showed a new episode on Tuesday night, it did great.
Renewed definitely!
This is still one of my favorite shows
I still like the shows I don’t think should be canceled but could be on earlier.
Csi please keep going please renew for 16season.
Love it ! Especially since adding Ted Danson .
From season 1 on im watching..
Still love this series!
And even in season 15th there are still strong episodes..
I know it will end one day.. But I still hope it will take a long run!
And I btw Love Ted Danson he was a great addition to the cast!!
