This will be the first full season of Dallas without Larry Hagman’s JR Ewing. Can the cast and producers continue to draw viewers and solid ratings without their quintessential bad guy? Will the new Dallas be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned to find out.
Airing on Monday nights, Dallas continues to follow the machinations of the dysfunctional and powerful Ewing clan. The cast includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
Final season averages: 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.92 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Reference point: The second season of the new Dallas averaged a 0.8 demo rating and 2.67 million viewers.
Cable ratings are typically released within a day or so of the show’s airing, except for in the case of weekends and holidays. They are sometimes harder to come by so there may be occasional delays or gaps.
What do you think? Do you still like the Dallas series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
Update: TNT has cancelled Dallas after three seasons. Details here.
There ought to be a law that says cancelling Dallas is a crime. The amount of sadness this has brought on us is so much. Bring back Dallas!
I miss Dallas. A completely fabulous show of the highest quality and watchability. They should never have cancelled this show.
Of course we can assume that the network did a stupid thing in cancelling Dallas. I wish they’d own up to that and correct it. Folks are missing this show so much.
What we need to do is to flood a network like Netflix to see what type of reaction we could get. Keep posting on their Facebook; etc. They have revived several shows.
best show ever…
the new show will be better and better..
so give more time and bring season 4
please,please
Please don’t think these new shows are better than Dallas. Because they’re not. The networks are vicious these days. They don’t seem to care if they cancel the best shows on TV to satisfy some whim. Bring back Dallas!
If Dallas were to return to TV, it would be number 1. But even if it was not number 1, it would still be a heck of a lot better that the current crop of want-to-bes.
How can they take Dallas away and put garbage in to replace it? I mean…what’s wrong with these people? They must be so screwed up in the head or live under a rock or something.
No matter what, Dallas will be the best show that ever was. Like when Star Trek was cancelled by some idiot programmer, we have again seen the stupidity of progammers actions. They don’t realize the effect they cause. Their actions are so wrong. Dallas was so popular…there were legions of fans who watched this show. This made a lot of fans sad.
My thoughts exactly!!! The show Dallas & its actors are like family to we fans! Thank God for these emails. It shows true love for that show!. Fans unite!. lets email CBS and ask them to bring Dallas back home & to the millions of fans! As I said before: ABC has that Blood & Oil, FOX has Empire so CBS please bring back Dallas & send all those others packing!!!!!
It was so nice hearing the Dallas theme at the beginning of each show. It meant the best show on TV was about to begin. How some wet behind the ears TV exec pulled it the way they did was a real tragedy. This show was the favorite of millions. TV will never be the same.
You really can’t improve or duplicate Dallas. No matter what the networks do, they will never regain the loss of Dallas. The only closest thing they can do is return Dallas. Please end our sadness and bring back the best show of all time.
Michael,
Even though Dallas is gone, you mentioned Star Trek. Star Trek lives on! Check out the new series on YouTube called Star Trek Continues. It is actually better than the original series.
I like Dallas. I wish it wasn’t cancelled. Please bring it back.
B&O is good. In fact, they are trying to copy almost every aspect of Dallas.
But the real McCoy is Dallas. There’s plenty of room on the evening show plate for having Dallas back too. Dallas would probably kill B&O. But great shows like this should never be cancelled.
That’s what’s wrong with TV. Too much aiming at the spenders only. They don’t even know who that is!
No Dallas? That really sucks. It was my favorite show.
