It looks like the fight to save the Dallas TV show is over — at least for now. After TNT cancelled the revival series after three seasons, fans rallied to save Dallas and studio Warner Horizon worked to find a new home. The latter’s efforts have come up empty.
Executive producer Cynthia Cidre and director Michael Robin released a joint statement to DallasDecoder to share the bad news:
Hi Friends,
Well, we have come to the end. After a 6-week attempt to try and land our beloved “Dallas” at another network, we have to inform you that we have not succeeded. Warner Horizon has attempted, in a Herculean way, to try and find us a new home, but at the end of the day it did not work out.
We so appreciate the outpouring of support by all of you, and the #SaveDallas campaign was a truly remarkable undertaking. We cannot fully express how much we loved making this show for you and with you. We had 3 wonderful years together, and we had the times of our lives bringing this iconic show back to television. Thank you for your support; thank you for your loyalty to our wonderful characters; and thank you for watching our show.
We wish you all our very best, and thank you again for loving “Dallas.”
With great admiration and appreciation,
Cynthia Cidre and Michael Robin
The new Dallas ran for three seasons on TNT and ended with several cliffhangers. Hopefully, Cidre and Robin will share what they had in mind for season four at some point.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Dallas won’t be returning for a fourth season? Would you like to see the Ewings come back some day?
So disappointed to learn Dallas would not be returning. I loved watching it every week and I thoroughly enjoyed going to work the next morning and discussing it with my co-workers that watched it – – – – which by the way were 6 more people. All agree that we dislike all the ridiculous reality shows on TV these days and also dislike the violent TV shows on almost every other channel. I think TV stations are looking at the wrong polls when it comes to what people really want to watch.
Been watching Dallas since the beginning. Don’t know what to do with it being cancelled. The new stars were great and I hate to see the end to a great era!
I am still so sad about the Dallas cancellation. I happened to look at my DVR recordings last nite and I found the last two hour episode by mistake. I stayed up til 2 am and watched it last night. I was so looking forward to what was going to happen next. I cant believe we will never know. I cant believe its the last time I will watch the Dallas show. It was one of the best shows on TV now.
What is TNT thinking of?! Dallas is a great show that we talked about all week and couldn’t wait until next week’s show!
I am so sorry to see this show end. I agree with the previous comments, was looking forward to the next episodes. Really enjoyed all the suspense! Not like a lot of the stupid reality shows they try to push!
Bring Dallas back this is bull sh$$ only show that can make you excited to see and what will happen from week to week
This was the best show I ever watched!!! Every second of the show was riveting. I wish Netflix would give it a shot
Really!!!! Something I really like with a demographic of people that are not tied to internet TV and reality shows, you have disappointed a great deal of Americans that followed the show intently. Too bad you have not heard from the ton of fans that don’t post.
Protest tnt and Cynthia Crider all of us americans are really angry that you took Dallas I knew when Larry Hagman passed away in november 2012 that something like this was going to happen I was all set for season 4 I thought john ross was doing very well of doing his fathers part so there is no reason to take Dallas off the air I say protest put Dallas back on the air
Maybe Netflix will take it on.
I do not believe that you did not try every television station on cable television and also local channels theres gotta be someone out there take the television show the show Dallas on we want to see you soon for very soon we’re tired of all these repeat comedy coming on and places no shows like Dallas or Falcon Crest also I would like to see Falcon Crest return and also not lending return I would like to see those on the cable channel since we don’t have a soap net channel anymore and I’m very upset about that too… Read more »
ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? THIS IS A CLASSIC! HOW CAN YOU NOT BRING THIS BACK??? I AM SO UPSET. PLEASE TRY AND BRING IT BACK AS SOON AS YOU CAN. HAVE YOU TRIED THE OWN NETWORK??? I’M SURE THAT OPRAH WLD LOVE TO HAVE DALLAS ON HER NETWORK!!
So sad to this happen!! Guess another reality show will take its place!! You can bet I won’t be watching!!
I sorry to learn that Dallas won’t be returning. I hope it will in the future.
I am so disappointed! I’ve patiently waited for the fourth season to begin only to find out the the show was cancelled. I’ve enjoyed the first three seasons just as much as I enjoyed the show in the 80’s. My husband enjoyed the show as much as I did, it was our date night! I’m surprised no other network picked up the show. We’re missing do many cliffhangers. Drop some reality TV, AND BRING DALLAS BACK!
I enjoyed the show. Sorry it not come back. I hope it be back soon.
Get rid of some of the reality shows. This was a great show!!! All the good ones are being cancelled! Tv is going down hill. First witches of east end. Now dallas!
I am so disappointed. I just recently learned the show was cancelled. I was so looking forward to seeing it again. I don’t understand why people are so hooked on reality TV shows. They are terrible. Dallas is such a great show with such talented actors. Just can’t believe they have cancelled such a good show.
They did a great job with the revamped show. As a 50+ viewer there was finally something on TV I could relate to. I looked forward to each episode. There is always hope that it can be saved but we aren’t getting any younger. Thanks anyways.
