It looks like the fight to save the Dallas TV show is over — at least for now. After TNT cancelled the revival series after three seasons, fans rallied to save Dallas and studio Warner Horizon worked to find a new home. The latter’s efforts have come up empty.
Executive producer Cynthia Cidre and director Michael Robin released a joint statement to DallasDecoder to share the bad news:
Hi Friends,
Well, we have come to the end. After a 6-week attempt to try and land our beloved “Dallas” at another network, we have to inform you that we have not succeeded. Warner Horizon has attempted, in a Herculean way, to try and find us a new home, but at the end of the day it did not work out.
We so appreciate the outpouring of support by all of you, and the #SaveDallas campaign was a truly remarkable undertaking. We cannot fully express how much we loved making this show for you and with you. We had 3 wonderful years together, and we had the times of our lives bringing this iconic show back to television. Thank you for your support; thank you for your loyalty to our wonderful characters; and thank you for watching our show.
We wish you all our very best, and thank you again for loving “Dallas.”
With great admiration and appreciation,
Cynthia Cidre and Michael Robin
The new Dallas ran for three seasons on TNT and ended with several cliffhangers. Hopefully, Cidre and Robin will share what they had in mind for season four at some point.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Dallas won’t be returning for a fourth season? Would you like to see the Ewings come back some day?
I was totally looking forward to season 4! So disappointing to discover it was cancelled. Whoever made this decision shouldn’t be making decisions any longer.
This is total B.S.! I got on here to find season 4 but instead I find that my favorite show is cancelled! I guess poor Christopher will forever burn in that car! I was a big fan of the original Dallas back in the day, but this new Dallas has been awesome! Josh Henderson AKA Jon Ross, you played the part of JR’s son PERFECTLY! I’ve loved you and hated you just like I did JR. I hope to see you in many new shows. I can’t believe the best show on television is history! Just goes to show that… Read more »
I love the show it was better than the original….. My favorite show on any of the networks was Dallas…. I think if it was on another channel more would have watched….. They just never saw it to love it the way I did…. Please bring it back somewhere….. So intense……could not wait for it to come on every week…….
I can’t believe Dallas is Canceled. I don’t understand why the good shows are being canceled and the reality shows are taking over. Only reality shows i watch are ‘Snapped and Dateline NBC’ as these are real events. I’m so disappointed as so many issues go unresolved on Dallas. Can anyone explain why TNT canceled Dallas?
How can they cancel Dallas with all the cliffhangers? Very unfair!!!!!! The same was done to Army Wives. Most of the shows on television now are reality shows. Fictional drama is one thing but I’m sick of watching the problems of everyday people. Now I realize why I started reading again……
I can’t believe that Dallas is gone. I loved this show. How can this great show be cancelled when pure filthy crap like Fresh off the Boat and Blackish are put on national television?!
One of the VERY few shows I watched. Disappointed doesn’t come close. Very sad and disgusted.
Ms. Cidre….there must be a network to pick up Dallas….all of us over 55 appreciate you bringing Dallas back….we even started discussing old episodes and how the relate to the new ones.
What in the world?? I did not know you were canceled!! I was looking to see when I could find out what happened to Christopher and was surprised to see it wasn’t coming back! What a terrible way to let us hanging! This cast was awesome and in all actuality was far better than the original! You will be missed! Thank goodness Larry Hagman didn’t have to see it canceled!
Mannn!!!! This sucks I mean I was searching looking for the new season date only to find this out, to say I’m disappointed is an under statement. I agree with a lady in the earlier post, u hate getting hooked on a new show not knowing when it going to be pulled. I loved the SHOW the acting was BRILLIANT!!!! Jon Ross, Christopher, even Sue Ellen they were awesome. I truly hope it will come back GOSH!!!
so sad I’m going to missed Dallas my friends & I love watched it on T.V. when we had cable thank god it’s on Netflix if you miss anything during a commercial it’s 1-3 season on Netflix
I have followed Dallas since it started back in it’s day. I was very impressed by the new cast you had chosen to carry it forward in the past 3 seasons. If you’re going to end a show at least follow thru with the remaining episodes. Today’s world just seems be so quick to cancel a show no matter how it affects the viewers. Being able to tune into a tv show EG: whether it’s every week, day or evening gives us purpose in life as well. You have a amazing cast and would like to see them all return… Read more »
Dallas is a great series. I have enjoyed watching many episodes and look forward to many more! This is not the end.
I am very sorry that Dallas won’t be returning for a 4th season !!! My husband and I really enjoyed watching just like in the past with the original show and we never missed an episode. I can’t believe it wasn’t a hit !!!! Please reconsider bringing it back so we can at least find out what happened and if it has to end then at least end it on air. That’s why it’s hard to like watching shows when you never know if they will come back or not. Please bring back the show !!!!!!
I will miss Dallas and they better find a home for the next season and many after. … there isn’t anything like it on television!
