It’s the end of the line for the Dallas TV show — for the second time. TNT has announced that they’ve cancelled the new Dallas TV show after three seasons.
A continuation of the successful CBS series from the 1970s, 80s and 90s, Dallas follows the machinations of two generations of the dysfunctional and powerful Ewing clan. The cast includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
Year-to-year, season three of Dallas was down by 26% in viewership and down by 38% in the 18-49 demographic. It’s one of TNT’s lowest-rated scripted series and that certainly wasn’t a good sign for its chances of a fourth season.
In a statement, TNT said, “We are extremely proud of the series, which defied expectations by standing as a worthy continuation of the Ewing saga. We want to thank everyone involved with the show, from the extraordinary cast to the impeccable production team, led by the show’s creative forces, Cynthia Cidre and Mike Robin. We especially want to thank the people of Dallas for their warm and generous hospitality during the production of the series.”
Cidre and the writers have been working on scripts and ideas for a fourth season of Dallas so hopefully she’ll share what would have happened at some point.

,I hope it is picked up by another network. It was one of the few series that picked up after 20+ years and was good. It sure beats Hawaii 5-0 remake and much better than all those reality shows. They actually had writers that new how to write good story lines.
Please don’t cancel Dallas. It is a great show. Too many loose ends. I would definitely watch it on another network!
I love the show and it’s story. The cast is great. John Ross mad Jr. Look like a pussycat. Please bring the show back, I think you are making a huge mistake by cancelling one the greatest shows on tv. It will be sadly missed. Now we will never know just how far Bobby would’ve gone to see justice for his son.
This is Stupid and very sad to see Dallas end. I hope another network will pick it up or TNT will renew. Why was in canceled, it was popular and one of the best shows on. Christopher probably isn’t dead, he probably wasn’t really in the car. I don’t think they would kill him off. There are so few good shows on anymore. This cancellation is very disappointing. Shame on TNT for squandering such a quality production with poor promotion, difficult timeslot competition and split season programming. If they were so proud of the “extraordinary cast” and “impeccable production team”, they should have taken better care of their product.
Loved the show!! Would watch on any channel. There was no ads for the show hard to find out when it was on. I think they did not promote it well at all. The show was amazing!!
NO! NO! NO! TNT can’1 cancel “Dallas” and leave its fans hanging!!!!! This is my favorite television series. I LOVE it!!!!! All of my friends love it, too. It’s so my fun to watch. The cast is excellent! I am so mad at TNT for letting me invest myself in these characters and their lives to just leave me hanging as to what happens to them. well, think about it. The Cidre lady just saw fit to kill off Christopher ( or is it “Crisp-topher >?) so why can’t TNT kill off Dallas. One good boffo deserves another. This is the best ending for a miserable season and half (since JR died) and tell me HOW in hell did the pornographic three way tryst from Season 2’s ending with JR, Emma and Pamela EVER get past the censors. Me & My most definitely would watch it on another channel! It has been one of are favorite shows since we were children and we excited every Monday to be able to watch it again! Someone please pic the show up!
There should be a season 4, I really enjoyed the series. The cast was incredible, How could the show leave so many loose ends and not air the 4 season. I will watch it on another channel. Very disappointed with TNT.
If the other networks are smart they will pick up Dallas!
Nooooooo, they can’t do this to me… Bring back my Dallas! Being a fan from the beginning, really hate to see it end. Monday night is a tough one running up against Blacklist, knowing Dallas aired back-to-back and Blacklist doesn’t, still had other TV set on Dallas for the TV Gods… Bring back Dallas! I love the Ewings, they are my family!
Please don’t cancel Dallas. I really enjoy it much more than most of the other programming coming out these days and I always look forward to the beginning of each season with much anticipation. Please bring Dallas back!
I too watched the original series and was thrilled to see the saga continue. This cast was incredible and held their own despite the death of JR. What I don’t understand is how they could end it with Christopher supposedly getting blown up. So many loose ends. I am totally disgusted with TNT.
I will watch this show where ever it goes.
