It’s the end of the line for the Dallas TV show — for the second time. TNT has announced that they’ve cancelled the new Dallas TV show after three seasons.
A continuation of the successful CBS series from the 1970s, 80s and 90s, Dallas follows the machinations of two generations of the dysfunctional and powerful Ewing clan. The cast includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
Year-to-year, season three of Dallas was down by 26% in viewership and down by 38% in the 18-49 demographic. It’s one of TNT’s lowest-rated scripted series and that certainly wasn’t a good sign for its chances of a fourth season.
In a statement, TNT said, “We are extremely proud of the series, which defied expectations by standing as a worthy continuation of the Ewing saga. We want to thank everyone involved with the show, from the extraordinary cast to the impeccable production team, led by the show’s creative forces, Cynthia Cidre and Mike Robin. We especially want to thank the people of Dallas for their warm and generous hospitality during the production of the series.”
Cidre and the writers have been working on scripts and ideas for a fourth season of Dallas so hopefully she’ll share what would have happened at some point.

I am heart broken that the Dallas series 4 is not going to happen, most people here in the UK that I talk with loved the old series but never got going on the new one, with fantastic stars like these, it should have took off big time, its like here in the UK now, script writers loosing the best of past skills, racy scenes that are hopeless, the original Dallas were well on the money, people talked about the last programs every week. Been wondering where this show went to. Incredibly sad it was cancelled-everyone I know loved the show. Felt complete reconnection to so many memories, and learning the new generation. I got married at South Fork… If this show will be continued on any other channel, I would want to know so I could watch it.

Please add me onto the list to suggest that Dallas should be continued. I watched all of the original series and the new ones as well. Honestly, I wasn’t sure that I would like the new series because I loved the original series and usually when they bring back a show with new characters I don’t usually like it but I was pleasantly surprised. There does need to be more advertising though because I had to hunt for the show because I wasn’t sure when it was going to be aired.

I just started watching Dallas about 3 weeks ago and finished the 3rd season this week. I would definitely love to see a 4th season. Unfortunately, I don’t have Satellite so I have to watch it on Netflix.
