This is certainly the worst of omens. Variety reports A&E has cancelled Damien after one season.
Based on The Omen film series, the drama followed an adult Damien (Bradley James) grappling with the fact that he is the Antichrist. Barbara Hershey, Scott Wilson, Omid Abtahi, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Robin Weigert, and David Meunier also starred.
The news doesn’t come as a huge surprise. Ratings for the short-lived thriller were never strong. Season one received an average of .18 in the 18-49 demo and a total of 478,000 viewers.
Showrunner Glen Mazzara confirmed the news on Twitter:
This hurts to say but #Damien will not be getting a second season. Thank you from all of us to our amazing fans.

What do you think? Did you watch Damien? Do you think the show should’ve been renewed?
I can’t believe this show was canceled. I stumbled across the series on hulu and absolutely loved it…… Shame on A&E for Canceling this. Would have had way more viewers if it was promoted correctly.
With hundreds of TV channels to watch how is nearly half a million viewers on one show not enough to continue a series? I just finished watching the first season again and I want more please.
I love the show I which it continues
2nd series please.
I meant Damien
I don’t understand why you all canceled it cause I really enjoyed watching it. Please bring it back. Every time I get into a TV series. You cancel them.
I can’t belive they leave us hanging like that. They leave it open for another season then cancle it. This always happens. I was really into it. Bring it back
I love Damien bring it back
I watched damien series 1 recently inactually enjoyed it – ok was a slightly alternative view to damien aged 30 but in some ways i feel people need to understand how a child may feel growing into an adult about being the antichrist and why bad things happen around you – so personally i hate to see it finish ending where it has – i feel there should be a series 2 – some big names and its got to be good but i feel it could be done, if not then there should have been more to series 1… Read more »
