Did you miss Day Break on ABC last night? If so, you’re certainly not alone. We’ve been innundated with emails and traffic from people looking for details on what’s happened to the Taye Diggs series.
For those who don’t know, Day Break has been pulled from primetime by ABC after just six episodes due to low ratings. The on-going storyline is hardly resolved with seven unaired episodes left in the season. ABC has said they will post episodes (one per week) on their website but many people don’t have a powerful enough computer, can’t access the Internet long enough to watch, don’t have a fast Internet connection or, for many other reasons, simply can’t view the episodes. In short, millions of people who could have seen future episodes on free network television, will never see this excellent series — and we think the decision-makers should know.
So, we’re inviting you to sign a petition that asks the network and the production companies (Gross Entertainment and Touchstone Television) to release the series so that more people can see it — to return the series to network TV or at the least, to release it on DVD. With enough interest, there could even be a second season or a movie.
Let your friends, neighbors and co-workers know — anyone who misses Day Break — where they can find this petition. Naturally, the more names are collected, the better.
To sign the petition, fill out the “comments” box below. You only need to leave your name, city and state (or country). You may leave comments if you wish but please try to keep them civil. We’ll be monitoring the petition to ensure that it stays clean of spam or inappropriate comments. Let’s save Day Break!
Please note, due to the overwhelming response, 5,000 comments have been archived (for bandwidth issues).
To ABC, Gross Entertainment & Touchstone Television:
cc: Taye Diggs
We, the undersigned have enjoyed much of your programming, particularly the outstanding Day Break series. We have enjoyed the Taye Diggs series each week and are dismayed that it has been pulled from the primetime schedule.
We believe that the ratings have not accurately shown the show’s popularity for success. After just six episodes, we believe that Day Break was not given enough time to fully establish a potentially huge audience. Please remember that many very popular shows like MASH, 24 and Cheers were not immediate hits.
We understand that ABC is posting the remaining episodes online but, for a variety of reasons, millions of people are not able to see these episodes — resulting in lost viewership for you and disappointment and frustration for them.
We respectfully request that you return Day Break to network television and to consider continuing production of further episodes or even a film. At the very least, we ask that you make the existing episodes available to a wider audience via a DVD release.
Thank you in advance for your attention and consideration.
The Undersigned fans of Day Break
Awesome show! Thank you, ABC, for putting the remaining episodes online. Please consider releasing the series on DVD, as I will definitely want to re-watch it at a later date to catch all of the many details that I missed. I am probably hoping for too much, but I think it would be great if you produce another 13-episode season of Day Break next year during a Lost hiatus. I love Lost too and don’t mind Lost going on break if I have something entertaining to watch like Day Break. Just be sure to do a better job of promoting… Read more »
Hooray for Day Break!
Please ABC bring this show back. I couldn’t wait each week to see a new episode and you pulled it way to soon to allow good ratings. Bring it back asap! Take a chance and try it, look at how many people want it to come back.
I loved Daybreak and I can’t seem to see the remaining episodes. Please make them available and give this show a second chance.
Thanks,
Daybreak rocked! Bring it back.
What really sucks about Daybreak (and similarly premised “The Nine”) being cancelled is that they were both clearly limited run series. I got tricked into believing I would be safe – that I would get to see the show in it’s entirety since it was a limited arc series. They had already filmed it, so of course they will show all of them right? Now when networks can’t even make a set up like that work, it’s time for viewers to tune out. It’s not worth it to invest. I usually don’t start watching a show until it’s second season… Read more »
I was very disappointed when I heard Day Break was going to be cancelled. Day Break was a cleverly written show and I think didn’t have enough time to really grab viewers. Many people who had only seen one episode said they were hooked after watching one episode but like myself were sad to hear is was no longer going to be aired on TV.
Please at least release the show on DVD and maybe you’ll see how many people really enjoyed the show and possible bring back the series.

Day Break is being missed a lot at my home. My wife, son and I watched it every week. Please bring it back or at least put it on dvd.
Please bring back Daybreak!!!!!!!!! Before this show, Alias was my most favorite show… EVER. Now, it’s been moved to number 2.
This has to be one of the best TV shows ever written. It played like a movie and left me thinking about it all the time… wondering what was going to happen. It is just terrible I didn’t catch onto it until I started watching it online. I wish I could have contributed to the ratings and possibly kept it running.
Please run another season…. or two or three….
Watched the final episode…..wow what a show!! Evidently the show was not as bad as ABC thought, Hollywood made a movie out of it…”Premonition anyone”?
Sound awfully familiar to our show!
Hmmmmmmm….
I love the Day Break Series. I live in sweden, and here it doesnt even air. But it would be great if you´d release it on DVD. So everyone could enjoy this excellent thriller series… Day Break is one of the best series to this date ever to been created!! Give us some more!
Thx.
This was a great show. ABC blew it on this one.
I really liked the show DAYBREAK and was upset to hear it was pulled. I would like to see the remaining episodes or at least have the DVD of the whole season. Not a lot of great shows out on the air…..but I looked forward to DAYBREAK every Wednesday.
