Did you miss Day Break on ABC last night? If so, you’re certainly not alone. We’ve been innundated with emails and traffic from people looking for details on what’s happened to the Taye Diggs series.
For those who don’t know, Day Break has been pulled from primetime by ABC after just six episodes due to low ratings. The on-going storyline is hardly resolved with seven unaired episodes left in the season. ABC has said they will post episodes (one per week) on their website but many people don’t have a powerful enough computer, can’t access the Internet long enough to watch, don’t have a fast Internet connection or, for many other reasons, simply can’t view the episodes. In short, millions of people who could have seen future episodes on free network television, will never see this excellent series — and we think the decision-makers should know.
So, we’re inviting you to sign a petition that asks the network and the production companies (Gross Entertainment and Touchstone Television) to release the series so that more people can see it — to return the series to network TV or at the least, to release it on DVD. With enough interest, there could even be a second season or a movie.
Let your friends, neighbors and co-workers know — anyone who misses Day Break — where they can find this petition. Naturally, the more names are collected, the better.
To sign the petition, fill out the “comments” box below. You only need to leave your name, city and state (or country). You may leave comments if you wish but please try to keep them civil. We’ll be monitoring the petition to ensure that it stays clean of spam or inappropriate comments. Let’s save Day Break!
Please note, due to the overwhelming response, 5,000 comments have been archived (for bandwidth issues).
To ABC, Gross Entertainment & Touchstone Television:
cc: Taye Diggs
We, the undersigned have enjoyed much of your programming, particularly the outstanding Day Break series. We have enjoyed the Taye Diggs series each week and are dismayed that it has been pulled from the primetime schedule.
We believe that the ratings have not accurately shown the show’s popularity for success. After just six episodes, we believe that Day Break was not given enough time to fully establish a potentially huge audience. Please remember that many very popular shows like MASH, 24 and Cheers were not immediate hits.
We understand that ABC is posting the remaining episodes online but, for a variety of reasons, millions of people are not able to see these episodes — resulting in lost viewership for you and disappointment and frustration for them.
We respectfully request that you return Day Break to network television and to consider continuing production of further episodes or even a film. At the very least, we ask that you make the existing episodes available to a wider audience via a DVD release.
Thank you in advance for your attention and consideration.

BRING BACK THE SHOW
check out my site… i have the Day Break Avalanche Hopper uses..
Where the DVD at?!
I’m 40 years old and like most people have been watching all my life. With todays’ tv de jure being reality shows and dramas like Desperate Housewives Daybreak was a true thinking mans/womans show on several different levels. Besides the whole twists and turns the Groundhog Day concept with the dramatic twist (instead of the comedic twist) was this short of brilliant. Taye Diggs/Brett Hopper was a truely likeable character, I cared what happend to him and half the time I was on the edge of my seat afraid he wouldn’t make it out of whatever situation he was in.… Read more »

THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!
ABC has SCREWED itself out of a POTENTIALLY HUGE HIT. By now, the cast has undoubtedly moved onto other projects; not much hope that there could ever be a season two even if another network were to pick it up. ABC…Please sell the series to the Sci-Fi channel or to someone else so it will be re-aired or released onto DVD!!!!!!!!! If you are capable of making a FAIR and SMART decision, of course…FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!!!!!!
BRING DAY BREAK BACK! I looked forward to that show every Wednesday! i didn’t figure out who really did it and now it is gone! BRING IT BACK!!!!
I have to admit, I wasn’t crazy about the idea of a guy who wakes up to the same day everyday but then with all the twists and turns happening in the show, I got really hooked!!! It’s an awesome show, good enough to be warranted more than just one season!!! How could you cancel such a great show??Will you pliz just listen to us,the viewers, and bring back Daybreak!!!!
This was one of the best shows on television when ABC pulled it. Thank you for putting up the remaining episodes on the web. You all should air them over the summer instead of those re-runs and then restart the season. Otherwise you have wasted a good product.
I’m truly disappointed that this show has been canceled. I have to say that this is one of the most captivating shows I’ve seen in a long time. Day Break keeps you on your toes wanting more. It’s so unfortunate that ABC decided to cancel due to low ratings. I believe this show would have been better served if their advertising and marketing departments were doing their jobs correctly. Once you start watching this show, you can’t stop. Showed the pilot to my friend this evening and he was hooked too. BRING DAY BREAK BACK!!!
The TV series had an interesting story and was entertaining. I was not just a lot of violence like so many of the shows are today.
I thought Daybreak was a stupid idea, but from the moment I first began watching the first episode I became addicted. I would eagerly await each new episode, and at first I thought it was just off the air for Christmas shows, but when I realized it wasn’t going to show again I was crushed. I really want to see the final 7 episodes, and I’m hoping they have some kind of conclusion, not just a set up for a second season which will never come. Either way, I want to see them, because I very much enjoy the ride,… Read more »
To Whom It May Concern: I was pleased to finally see the remaining episodes of Day Break via Online, but was only able to see up to episode 12. I wasn’t able to access the finale. Everything I tried brought me right back to the same screen with the same 12 episodes. I was really disappointed to see Day Break cancelled, but am now even more disappointed that I can’t see the series finale. Why is this and how can I go about seeing it? I would like to see what finally happens after what all the 12 episodes have… Read more »
Can’t believe Day Break was cancelled. Deserves at least a second season. Please bring it back.
I am so hooked on Day Break. Its an awesome story. Why in the world did they ever cancel it? They could take this show in so many directions. I refuse to watch Lost anymore, it has me so…lost. Day Break is so much better than Lost. Bring back Day Break! I love the show. I showed my sister the first episode today and now she’s hooked and is watching them online.
