Despite a big decline in ratings, Syfy has picked up their Defiance TV show for a third season of 13 episodes.
The Defiance TV show takes place in the year 2047 — some 30 years after various alien races arrived on Earth. The town of Defiance (what used to be St. Louis) stands as an example of how humans and aliens can live harmoniously (mostly) together. The cast includes Grant Bowler, Julie Benz, Stephanie Leonidas, Jaime Murray, Tony Curran, Graham Greene, Jesse Rath, Nicole Munoz, Dewshane Williams, Jim Murray, Anna Hopkins, and William Atherton.
The second season of Defiance averaged 1.56 million viewers, down 25% from the first season’s viewership of 2.09 million.

I think that Defiance is a great series however I would have to agree on having less mature scenes, and have the show focus more on the reasons for the colonization, and also why the various aliens left there home worlds for earth.
Keep up the great products of syfy channel shows
I love it. Want more seasons with more stories bring some of the characters pasts in episodes like the pale wars etc. We not seen enough with earth republic . Really want more series to come out with a longer 23 episodes and move it to sky1 and watch the veiwing levels change
I’d say that if there would be less mature scenes the popularity of Defiance would be grown by 25% instead of going down . I love this show and i dont want to see it gets canceled , they covered the word **** with shtako but they put alot of mature scenes they should better fix it cause i dont want my favorite show gets canceled . Damn i would really love if every episode would be like 2 hours and every season has 23 episods . <3 Defiance
Yea if there would be less mature scenes there would be alot more popularity , hope they make less mature scenes so this show can keep up . I would love if these every episode would be for about 2 hours and 22 Episodes for season . <3 Defiance
I love the series
An adult Scfi how novel, perhaps this is why their ratings fell in the second seasons because only those with a mature personality continued to watch it.
