It appears that there’s still a lot of dirty laundry. Lifetime has renewed their Devious Maids TV show for a third season. The 13 new episodes will debut sometime next year.
Devious Maids revolves around a group of Latina maids who work in the Beverly Hills homes of wealthy and powerful families. The large cast includes Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramirez, Roselyn Sánchez, Judy Reyes, Edy Ganem, Susan Lucci, Rebecca Wisocky, Tom Irwin, Grant Show, Drew Van Acker, Mariana Klaveno, Brianna Brown, Brett Cullen, Wolé Parks, Mark Deklin, Joanna P. Adler, Colin Woodell, and Dominic Adams.
The second season of Devious Maids concluded in late July and averaged 1.81 million viewers each week. That was down by 29% compared to the first season. It’s still the cable channel’s highest-rated scripted series. The Lottery draws about half that size audience and it looks likely to be cancelled.
Here’s the renewal press release:
LIFETIME RENEWS “DEVIOUS MAIDS” FOR THIRD SEASON
Hit Series from Marc Cherry and Eva Longoria to Return with 13 All-New Episodes in 2015
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 26, 2014) – It’s been a Devious two years at Lifetime and the network is set to get even more Devious in 2015. Lifetime has renewed its hit series Devious Maids (#DeviousMaids, #DeviousArmy) for a third season, placing a 13-episode order for the program executive produced by Marc Cherry and Eva Longoria, and starring Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramírez, Roselyn Sánchez, Edy Ganem, Judy Reyes and Susan Lucci. Produced by ABC Studios, Devious Maids will return next year. The announcement was made today by Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Lifetime.
“We are thrilled to be bringing Devious Maids back for another season. Marc Cherry has created a uniquely twisted world that blends his comic wit with devilishly ingenious characters and plot twists,” said Sharenow.
Devious Maids is set in a world where murder and mayhem collide in the mansions of Beverly Hills’ wealthiest and most powerful families. Class warfare has never been as fun and dirty as it is in the tiny enclave where the staff is as clever, witty and downright devilish as their employers. The series centers on a close-knit group of maids, Marisol (Ortiz), Rosie (Ramírez), Carmen (Sánchez), Valentina (Ganem) and Zoila (Reyes), who are bonded together by their jobs, life struggles and the melodramatic universe that engulfs their employers. Devious Maids also stars Grant Show, Rebecca Wisocky, Tom Irwin, Drew Van Acker and Mark Deklin.
Season two of Devious Maids, which concluded July 13th, fueled Lifetime to be the number one cable network in its Sunday 10-11pm time period with Total Females, Women 18+, Women 25-54 and Women 18-49. In its freshman season, the series was Lifetime’s fastest-growing drama ever.
Inspired by the hit telenovela, Ellas son… la alegría del hogar and created by Marc Cherry, Devious Maids is produced by ABC Studios. Season three will be executive produced by Cherry, Sabrina Wind (Desperate Housewives) and Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives). Joining them is the creative team of Ric Swartzlander (Cougar Town), Brian Tanen (Desperate Housewives), Larry Shuman (Kissing Miranda), David Lonner, John Mass and Televisa USA’s Paul Presburger and Michael Garcia.

i will be watching devious maids, i love that show. i was wondering why it wasn’t coming back on. i have to agree some of the reality shows are really not my cup of tea. i do love the movies though.
Can,t wait to see it
I loved this show from the first time I saw it in Season One. I was concerned it wasn’t coming back this year; but googled it to find it will be back in 2015 and am totally thrilled. I can’t wait to see what happens next and I look forward to each week with anticipation and excitement.
I hope they don’t cancel it after season 3; I would be terribly disappointed. It has humor, it has tragedy, the characters are awesome; it is just one fantastic show.

I love watching DM, however I wish there was something that could be done about the lapse in seasons . I’ve been watching second 2, so often it’s sad.
DM is awesome and its not a copy cat every TV show we see now days is simular to another show i find DM interesting , creative , dramatic and also devious !!!!!!1 its an incredible show and everyone loves it !!! can’t wait for season 3 its going to be EPIC
I like DM, of course itsn’t DH, but it’s a nice television serie. The only big trouble that I see, is the enormous lapse of time between seasons! I completely agree with Sherri.
I won’t be watching its copy cat desperate housewives next
I love Devious Maids, I think the networks need to realize that watching shows when they are on is not the norm any longer. I didn’t even know what network it was on, I watch it on my Ipad after downloading the first 2 seasons. Its a great show, I hope they don’t get rid of it. Also they wait too long between seasons! I get really into shows that I download and then it doesn’t come back again for a year. That is too long. If anything split the seasons into 10 show segments.. Take a 2 month break… Read more »
I realize that the reality shows are less costly than making a good Television Series, but as the other comment states, its just too boring, why would I want to watch screaming spoiled overweight children, screaming women, men beating the crap out of each other, ad nausea. What kind of message is this sending to our young people in America, and
our IQ through the eyes of other nations.
Anyway, Bravo for keeping Devious maids. Clever writing, and spectacular cast, great production and Director.
Agree!!! I have had enough trainwreck reality tv!
