Kathy Bates and Chuck Lorre are teaming up again. Recently, the two spoke with Variety about their upcoming Netflix series Disjointed.
From Lorre and David Javerbaum, the comedy stars Bates as a woman who runs a pot dispensary after her dream of marijuana being legal comes true. The cast also includes Jessica Lu, Aaron Moten, and Dougie Baldwin.
In the interview, Lorre revealed more details about the series:
Kathy plays Ruth Whitefeather Feldman, a woman whose lifelong mission has been to decriminalize marijuana. She’s something of an icon in that movement. The series is about what happens when that mission is accomplished. She is faced with running a legal cannabis establishment with her son and a staff of young budtenders. Business, family, and romance are difficult — they’re harder stoned.”
Bates added:
I can’t wait to work with Chuck again. It’s going to be a really fun, interesting show. Chuck is so great at casting and he’s already putting together some exciting young actors.”
Netflix has not yet set a premiere date for Disjointed.
