Fans of Doctor Who have no reason to worry about the series going away anytime soon. This comes from ontroller of BBC drama commissioning Piers Wenger. He revealed at a a BBC event that the series will be around for a very long time.
Wenger said the following about Doctor Who, according to Radio Times:
“I genuinely – I worked on Doctor Who myself, I produced it for many years, and I can honestly say that I don’t think it’s been in better health, editorially. I think it’s fantastic and… the production values obviously have never been better. It’s an incredibly important show for younger audiences, still watched by families in a world where there are fewer and fewer shows that have the power to do that, so it will always be an important show for us. I think we’re a very long way from wanting to rest it.”
Not after the series premiered its current season, the current Doctor Who, Jodie Whittaker, said she was ready for more. Production will start on the new season of the BBC series this fall.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Doctor Who? Do you want to see more of this series?
Doctor Who has lost the plot. I’ve seen every episode of Doctor Who currently that is available from 1963 to 2018. I quit watch the show at the end of Jodie Whittaker’s first series. Elements of the BBC has hijacked the program to be a platform for a single point of view in social justice and socialistic geopolitical indoctrination of the viewers. People watch Doctor Who because historically, the show often shows how noble… Read more »
Bad writing for season 11 and season 12 is slowly killing this show kept watching hoping it would get better. The best part of the last 2 seasons was the brief moment Capt Jack made an appearance.
sorry , i love this show have since the early 70’s watching it on PBS in detroit, and while it has always had a SUBTLE political theme, it has never been so hit you over the head, slap you in the face, with more political ranting, than ACTUAL story, the last 2 seasons have been one episode after another, with “social commentary” on everything from climate changes, to “inclusion / diversity / gay,etc ” themed , they decided the christmas episode isnt needed, instead going for a new years day “special”, ( of which included the “surprise” return of the daleks, then… Read more »
I agree. My girls have grown up on the series since eccleston and we’ve been watching together all that time. I was willing to overlook the regencies to bisexuality (from Roman soldiers to Captain Jack) and my children are well aware of same sex marriage as we have some friends are are in same sex marriages. We are not prudes no do we live in the dark ages. However, we lived through the yawn inducing Peter Capaldi hoping this would be a rebirth. Instead what we get is bad writing, too many companions and a Bernie Sanders driven platform…. When… Read more »
