It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

One of the smartest and entertaining new shows featuring strong women characters…. and it’s being canceled?!!! It is a wonderfully fun and entertaining show with a cast that appears to ‘seamlessly’ blend together. It would be a terrible shame to not continue it! I believe that it was not properly promoted with DVR’s in mind as I only ‘happened’ upon it effectively not even knowing it was on as I have a DVR, so rarely do we ever watch commercials and such. I tape Eastwick every week and it’s by far my favorite show! It is very disappointing that it’s being cancelled. It’s the first season. People haven’t even got a chance to hear about it yet. 🙁
I have really enjoyed the show. It is very original and the production quality is outstanding. Why it failed? I have no idea except that maybe ABC put too many new shows on the same night. Since Eastwick was the last of them, people went to sleep. I am hoping that Eastwick fans will flood ABC with letters asking for the show to return in the spring when other shows are canceled. I think Eastwick is the best new show in a very long time.
This is so upseting, every single time you get a non reality show and something to look forward to on wednesday night………… You go and cancel………but leave the crappy shows or more violent on……….that makes sense
this is the best new show on tv . Its just getting going . Give it a chance. You didn’t promote this show at all. What did you expect? It needs more time to get the info out there. Catch it once and you watch again. Watch it twice and your hooked. Please give it a chance.
You are all right! Eastwick is my fav. show on TV right now. It would be a shame to see it go. I’m so sick of all the CSI bull. AND NO MORE REALITY PLEASE. Thet haven’t even gave it a chance. You didn’t even advertise it. Now people are just starting to get into it. How can you go wrong with the great cast. They all work well together. I agree about all those stupid reality shows, I hate them and never watch them. and you are right about to many CSI shows and Medical shows, give me a break. I work in the medical field so I don’t want to come home and watch it on TV!! ENOUGH ALREADY!!!! Eastwick was just what ABC needed something new and different,I love it!!!!!! it failed because the morons didnt advertise it. people are just starting to know that it is even around and now they want to pull the plug? how about you put some money into marketing you cheap asses! i am really pissed. i enjoy the show tons. it is the first series in a long time i have gotten into.

Why not put it on Friday night and put Ugly Betty in Wednesday night place. Do not just cut and run on this show ABC! It is actually a good show, just needs a few “Tweaked” areas in the show. Cybil Shepard wasn’t even promoted on this show and I know she can pull in the ratings if she had been. I am getting so tired of the “Reality” show junk and the many CSI’s and Law and Order’s we need something different to watch. I am super pissed!!! The show was just getting good! I really wish that abc would give it a chance.
That’s ABC for ya. They never give a show a chance. They come out with too many new shows for the fall season, and then they don’t give it a chance to get rolling. I am really sick of reality type shows. At least this one had some character to it and comedy. It’s very hard to get attached to a new show on ABC because you just don’t know what they will end up doing with it.

I loved the time slot, but that’s only because it worked for me personally. I tried to get into this show, I was excited about it, & I really wanted to love it (always a fan the supernatural genre), but it was just “missing something.” It would be great if it was picked up by another network & tweaked a bit. It could have been great.
Cancelling this show would be a very stupid move for ABC. I’m not the only one who thinks this; there are petitions all over the internet, and there’s now a KeepEastwick channel on YouTube.
