It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

I love this show and am very sad that it is cancelled. In fact it was my favorite of the new shows this season. Darn!!!!
I love this show as well. It figures as soon as a good show comes on they rip it off the network. It is BS!! Honestly they should make many more seasons!!!
This was one of my favorite shows, what are they going to put in its replacement…. Another reality show or maybe another medical show.*sigh* This show way cute and different i wish it would have lasted.
I love eeastwick but I mostly watch in online because I live in a college dorm. Is there anything fans can do to maybe change the circumstances??

It is wonderful and promotes feminine strength, witt, empowerment all the while providing entertainment. Did they ever think to try moving days either? It is currently competing with one of the most popular shows out there (CSI: NY). I am very sad to see it go. It is the only show that I watch on ABC. Hopefully another network will pick it up and let the viewers make the choice about it. Didn’t the execs at ABC notice that Eastwick was nominated for a People’s Choice Award? That should count for something.
Again, another great show is canceled while we keep looser reality shows. What is wrongwith the people making these decisions??? I loved Eastwick and will be sorry to see it go.
I so bummed that Eastwick was cancelled! I loved the show and its creativity with all of the characters. I am going to miss watching it and of course Daryl haha.
I think it is on too late in the evening. Do viewer tallies consist of those who tivo the show? I tivo because of the time it is aired, but wonder if I count as a viewer if my tv isnt on?
@Keri: If you are Nielsen viewer, Tivo viewing is counted though it’s not as valuable to the network if you wait several days to watch.
If you aren’t a Nielsen viewer, your viewing isn’t actually being counted. Nielsen only counts a sampling of people in various demographics (people they contract with) to estimate how many people are watching a show.
I agree with someone who commented on the time slot, I really loved the episodes! It sucks that it is getting cancelled. It has that “Charmed” sense of humor, along with the drama & action. Too bad.

I absolutely LOVE this show! There hasn’t been a fun “chick” show in a long time and this fits the bill. It’s not a crime drama and it’s not another doctor show, which frankly, I’m sick of seeing all of those types of shows and welcome shows like Eastwick and Accidentally On Purpose!! I’m sad that these shows keep getting cancelled. I also loved Lipstick Jungle and it too was cancelled. Don’t the stations give a crap about their women viewers?

@Marilyn: Unfortunately, those viewings make very little money for ABC so they don’t count much.
I love this show they really need to bring it back. I cant believe they jus left it like that. it is wayy too good to cancel.
