It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

abc is really getting on my nerves… I loved Eli Stone – canceled! Six degrees – canceled! now Eastwick too?? seriously! don’t put them on at all if you’re not going to continue with it.. it sucks you get into it and then they cancel. Eastwick is a great show! Funny and interesting.. so much to play with! KEEP IT!!!
Wow it never fails! A different kind of show comes on and it gets cancelled!!! I am so bummed! I will stop watching abc again because they dont have anything I like to watch!!
I noticed all the names of people mourning the cancellation of EASTWICK are female. Well, here’s one male not afraid to say he really liked the show. It was adult, funny, filled with beautiful and talented women, and I was really curious as to what was going to happen next. It seems to be a pattern that whenever I like something, it gets cancelled. I liked LIFE ON MARS – gone! I liked THE UNUSUALS – yanked! I liked LIFE – dead! To answer your question… I do not think those ratings are accurate. Alot of people in the age demographic watching EASTWICK have to tivo or dvr this program because of the time, which doesn’t give an accurate estimate of the people actually watching. I think there are alot of people/fans that care enough about this show,that ABC should take notice and show at least the last six episodes, if not buy another season. I think ABC viewers are becoming more and more disgruntled and ABC has the power to change that with a simple decision to stick with EASTWICK!
Whoever gave Eastwick a bad rating obviously doesn’t know what the public likes! Everyone I’ve talked to likes the show. The TV network should be finding out what the VIEWERS like best, not the TV critics. Does anyone remember Charmed?… YEAH. It was huge! It took a little bit to take off, but when it did, it was very successful. ABC is making a big mistake by taking it off the network.
I also loved Charmed and was so happy to see Eastwick come on . I didn’t care for the movie but I sure do like the show . I think they stuck it on a bad night up against a really tough line up , they need to find a different nitch and move it give it a chance . I am sorry but the Neilson ratings to me never ever correspond with my point of view on t.v. shows. Maybe one of the other networks can pick it up like USA or TNT or something . I’d love that
I think that Eastwick rocked. I know atleast 50 people who watch it religiously. I know if they put it on at an earlier time they would get the ratings they want. You have to give it a chance. Check out the group on facebook!!! They all want to keep eastwick. ABC you effectively suck!!!
NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! I REALLY hope they dont cancel this show 🙁 I LOVE IT! It’s my new favorite show. i agree maybe its only the time slot that isnt giving it justice, but this show must go on. it reminds me of one of my favorite movies, Practical Magic 🙂 There is something about the plot of this series that is so captivating. i cried so much when Cat felt helpless that her new best friend was trapped in the coffin. if the time slot is changed im sure it will do way better!! This is the only show besides Cougar Town that we watch on Wednesday nights. They are entertaining. I could care less about Flash Forward and Hank. If these shows go, I won’t be watching ABC in the evenings any more. This will also apply to Monday nights, if Castle is cancelled.
Eastwick is a great show. I think that this show might be not on the lines of the viewers and heads of ABC. When I found out they where going to air a show like this I was Heck YEAH!!! Now something I am willing to watch. See I was in love with Charmed. When that show went off the air. I was sad and knew that nothing would come along to have that same flare. But low and Behold. Please give Eastwick a chance. It is a great show and I look forward to watching it every week. Please think of the people who love the show! It is better than Cougartown, way better!! Abc has other shows that I think should go and this is not one!!!
I finally found a show that I can set down and watch and now they want to cancel it. I think if they need to cancel anything it should be some of these reality shows that dont make any sense.
Eastwick is a great show – give it a chance ABC! It’s ten million times better than Cougartown.
Please do not cancel “Eastwick” it is the only good new show on this season. I really do look forward to watching each week. Maybe another network will pick it up! I am so disappointed!
