Evil is returning this fall. The supernatural drama series aired to low ratings in the 2019-20 season and was renewed for a second year. Production was delayed due to the pandemic so it didn’t return as expected during the current 2020-21 season. Now, we have confirmation that it’s coming back but the show will have a new home.
Evil stars Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, Aasif Mandvi, Michael Emerson, Christine Lahti, Kurt Fuller, Brooklyn Shuck, Skylar Gray, Maddy Crocco, and Dalya Knapp. A forensic psychologist, Kristen Bouchard accepts a job offer from David Acosta (Colter), a former adventure-seeking journalist. He’s now studying to be a Catholic priest and has been tasked by the Church to assess unexplained phenomena. Acosta also recruits Ben Shakir (Mandvi), an even-tempered realist with carpentry skills. He uses those abilities to uncover practical rationales behind “hauntings.” Kristen is certain that science can provide answers to every incident that the trio encounters — until she meets Leland Townsend (Emerson). He’s a sinister man who oozes menace and threatens Kristen and her four young daughters (Shuck, Gray, Crocco, and Knapp). Undeterred, Kristen, David, and Ben set out to assess inexplicable events to see if there’s a logical explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work.
It’s been announced that the second season of Evil will be released as a Paramount+ exclusive series and won’t be seen on CBS in the fall. SEAL Team, which is currently in its fourth season, is also moving to the streaming service for its fifth year.
Here’s the announcement from Paramount+ about the TV shows’ moves:

May 18, 2021 – Paramount+, the streaming service from ViacomCBS, today announced that the new seasons of CBS dramas EVIL and SEAL TEAM will be available exclusively on Paramount+. What do you think? Did you enjoy the Evil TV series on CBS? Do you plan to check out season two when it’s released on the Paramount+ service?
As a matter of fact I will not watch one thing on CBS EVER AGAIN. YOUR GREED IS DISGUSTING…. I WILL NEVER BE BULLIED INTO GREED BY A MILLION DOLLAR INDUSTRY… NOT EVER…. bye bye EVIL….and CBS…..
I loved the show… But as some said after the pandemic I am in no financial position to pay to watch a show that use to be free. I don’t care how much I enjoyed it I will not be forced buy a show I use to enjoy for free….. Nice job with your GREED…. IM OUT….
Very upset that Evil has been moved and now you want me to pay for another channel. With the pandemic and everything else money is tight as it is. I even saw it being advertised that it was going to be back when I was watching CBS and nothing was said in the commercial that it was going to be on paramount+ only. This should be reconsidered and offered on both platforms.
It is unfortunate Evil moved to Paramount +. I will not be paying to watch it.
In a year Season 2 will be elsewhere I suspect and the show will no longer have a following,.., and will not be renewed. No one will pay for Paramount+ to see the show.
I did not like EVIL. It had demons or devils in it and I felt it was not something I wanted to watch late in the evening. So i stopped and won’t watch again. The world right now is full of evil things and people and I want to see something that makes me laugh.
I will not pay extra to watch a show that I was already paying for. You need to keep the show on CBS. Money doesn’t grow on trees at my house!!!!!
I totally agree. I have almost two years to catch a delayed season 2 and CBS moves it to a pay channel. This is ridiculous. I will not pay extra while CBS cheats its customers. CBS also cancelled all CSI shows while they were still popular and left open unresolved plots.
The news about “Evil” moving to Paramount+ exclusively is HORRIBLE — Evil, even! If the CBS executives are so convinced that Paramount+ will prove to be “Oh so Popular”, why don’t they go truly multi-platform and air the show on Both network TV and Paramount+ and see how well it does on the Pay service? I mean 1st they tried to stick us with “CBS All Access” and it was Hated, so they thought, “Oh, if we rename it and throw in some old movies, everyone will love it?” Please. Why not move a New, less clever show, like ‘Clarice’… Read more »
I was looking forward to watching Evil and then found out it is on Paramount Plus. I do not get that channel and will not pay for it. I looked into it and according to customer service rep my tv is too old to get this station. I am not about to buy a new tv to watch this show. I do hope the show will be put back on channel 2 once it is shown for the season on Paramount Plus.
Very upset that evil is no longer on CBS we don’t get paramount +and was really looking forward to seeing it again we hope you will reconsider and put it back on CBS so more people can watch it I see ever since it left the regular television network CBS it’s had low ratings and that is probably why we are really disappointed
I really liked Evil on CBS and I wondered where it went. I do not like that I have to pay to see it but I might do it-haven’t decided.
I will NEVER pay to watch shows that were previously available over the air on a streaming service. EVER!!!
As it is we pay way too much for TV in the first place. Now all these companies are starting new streaming companies to where you have to pay even more to watch your favorite shows. These money grubbing companies need to be stopped. Why do we pay so much to have more and more of our channels and shows taken away
I enjoyed Evil but I will not be forced pay a streaming service. I think this is away to grab money out of a consumers pocket. The consumer must have a satellite or cable tv. The consumer must pay for internet service now a third cost. I will just miss watching evil. I can’t afford streaming services for every show plus food, electricity, and rent.
I have a tv so I can enjoy watching on a bigger screen. I dont have streaming on my tv, and I am not going to pay so I can watch on my phone.
I am very upset that networks are moving favorite shows to streaming services. This is not how I watch and don’t like that I’m forced to give up watching my shows because I dont want to pay additional money for added services.
