The 2nd Mass resistance militia will keep fighting the good fight according to Variety. To no big surprise, TNT is reportedly planning to renew Falling Skies, their popular sci-fi action series, for a third season.
Featuring Noah Wylie and a large ensemble cast, the second season of Falling Skies debuted to 4.46 million viewers and a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Season-to-date, Falling Skies is averaging 4.03 million viewers and a 1.4 demo rating.
Year-to-year, that’s down by 14% in both categories. Still, it remains TNT’s highest-rated TV show in the demo.
There’s no word on how many episodes TNT will order for the third season but the two existing seasons have had 10 installments each.
Season two of Falling Skies is scheduled to conclude on August 19th.
What do you think? Are you glad to hear that Falling Skies is being renewed? How long do you think the show should realistically run?
I love this show and I hope they make some good ways to continue it!!!
So glad to hear it is coming back! Can’t wait.
The seasons should be aminiumof 12 seasons to 19 wich is prefured. The show should be atleast 4 to 5 Seasons long
The fact is most seasons run about 4 seasons…Thats what I would like to see from Falling Skies. But I think most seasons should be @12 to 19 episods . That is what true SIFI people realy want, truly longer seasons.
10 shows per season is not really enough.
[…] As expected, TNT has renewed Falling Skies for a third season of 10 episodes. The cable channel says that season three will air sometime in 2013 but didn’t indicate a summer run. […]
Yes!! Season 3!!!!!!
Hooray! Don’t let the overlords win, TNT!
It’s good, not great. I’m glad Noah found something else to be in, I think he rode the ER train too long honestly. It’s good it’s being renewed, but still that’s another one out of the question of what will be renewed.
We love Falling Skies! So glad they renewed it!
