Liam James is Ben/Adam Warren. Andrew McCarthy is Hank Asher. Floriana Lima is Bridey Cruz. Young Willa and Danny are played by Madeleine Arthur and Rarmian Newton.

Claire finally realizes what Adam and Ben endured when she visits the hell hole-like tomb where they were kept, exploding with grief, anger and frustration. Meanwhile Jane looks to make a getaway as Nina closes in on Doug’s location, and Agent Clements’ time is running out. Hank comes face to face with his inner demons, and one phone call shatters Ben’s world, forcing him to tackle an uncertain destiny.

The Family was canceled due to low ratings. As of the May 8th episode, the series averaged 0.83 in the 18-49 year-old viewer demographic and drew an average total audience of 3.276 million viewers. We have been tracking 25 scripted ABC series during the 2015-16 television season. Those numbers leave The Family ranked 21st out of 25, when sorted by both the demo and total average audience.

ABC cancelled The Family on Thursday, May 12, 2016, so this first season finale was not written as an intentional TV series finale. If the audience will get sufficient closure or satisfaction from “What Took So Long,” remains to be seen.

Not understanding why The family is being cancelled!!!!This is great a show which always kept me guessing. The ending is such a cliffhanger, we have to know what happened. Please reconsider.

I found this show on hulu about a month ago and have been watching it since on Sunday nights at 9. Tonight’s episode was it!?! Not fair at all. A great show with a sensational plot. Joan Allen and Andrew McCarthy were fantastic. I also watch Last man on earth but figured I could watch that on demand because I was so into the plot on The Family. ABC should not cancel the family tv show. It is my opinion that it was on the wrong night. Sunday nights @ 8 that is when most people are getting their kids ready for bed, try Thursday nights instead, ABC you are wrong please don’t do it.

Sad to see that this was canceled. I watched every Sunday and thought it would be renewed for another season. The finale was awesome but leaves the viewers hanging on what happens next. Please being The Family back!
This is very disappointing that abc is cancelling such a good show. Quantico is wack and so is the Catch. Maybe if the show came on on another day like Thursday it would be a hit.
So tired of finding shows that my husband and I enjoy watching together, but yet they get cancelled? My opinion is The Family is one of the best shows abc has to offer after Quantico. I am going to stop watching abc period at this rate because anytime we find a show we enjoy it gets cancelled by Abc.!

We loved this show & can’t believe it was cancelled. The season finale was super & we were so looking forward to the rest of the story. I suppose it will be replaced by a stupid reality show now.
