The Walking Dead has been an incredibly successful TV series for AMC so it makes sense business-wise to make a related series. Will it also be a hit in the ratings? Could it become more successful or, is one zombie series on AMC enough? Could it be cancelled even though the execs already gave it an early second season renewal? Stay tuned!
Fear the Walking Dead, explores the onset of the undead apocalypse through the lens of a fractured family. Set in a city where people come to escape, shield secrets, and bury their pasts, a mysterious outbreak threatens to disrupt what little stability high school guidance counselor Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) and English teacher Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis) have managed to find. The rest of the cast includes Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Lorenzo James Henrie, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Rubén Blades, Mercedes Mason, and Patricia Reyes Spíndola.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
Final season averages: 3.80 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.61 million total viewers.

What do you think? Do you like the Fear the Walking Dead TV series? Do you think it should have been renewed for a second season so early — or cancelled instead?
this show is going to be BIG., due to no comic spoilers.!!! its original, and if writers are good for this show, it should be bigger than the walking dead.!!!
turns out the show sucks, slow, boring, no intelligence in a single person in the show. BIG FAILURE!
Kudos to all involved with this series. Thoroughly engaging and compelling from its deliciously ponderous inception to its masterful evolution of apocalyptic awareness. As a parallel prequel to Rick Grimes’ hospital stay, the cast’s burgeoning realization of their dire situation enlists a comprehensive emotional gamut ranging from ignorance and denial to primal violence and instinctive self-preservation.
As a big fan of TWD I was really looking forward to seeing the events that lead up to the outbreak. This show explained NOTHING!!! I was hoping to see perspectives from local government, local law enforcement, CDC personnel , medical response teams etc. but we got none of the above. For instance how about a perspective from the people that cleaned up the lesson the church with the first walker with Nick?? SOMEBODY cleaned that up that mess as we learned when Travis went to investigate what Nick said he witnessed. Show was so focused on bratty teens and… Read more »
I’m a really big fan of the brand. I’ve seen every episode of both series and even took the Zombie tour in Atlanta, but this series has been painful to watch. Every episode I say this will be my last. Episode 5 did however re-peak my interest. I don’t mind the scenarios, and I don’t doubt the abilities of the actors, it’s the Direction and extreme naivety of the characters that frustrate me.
What do you expect from them? Extreme naïvety? How so? You don’t first think “let’s kill sick people” do you? No. And that’s the point and beauty of the show.
This is a good show and we know where it is going. This time, it is getting there with a slow start.
Just let it evolve people. It has a lot of potential! I have always wondered about the beginning of TWD. Maybe we will get more clues about the how with FTWD.
Frankly, this is the only show (with TWD) I even bother to watch anymore and cut the cable cord years ago.
I would much rather watch this than Kim Kardashian or Honey BooHoo or Brucatlain Jenner- trainwreck “reality” shows.
Let’s give it a chance! Please 😀
AMEN!!!!! I”ve been a big fan of the TWD since day one and I’ll be a fan of FYWD also. Season two should pick up the pace and there will be more excitement and more walkers and the actors being more badass!!!
Still waiting…….
This show just sucks and is bringing down the TWD brand. Just put a bullet through its head and put it out of its misery. It’s just too painfully boring and zombieless to watch.
I’M JUST AN OLD NANA, SO THE VERDICT IS NOT IN YET. BUT I WILL CONTINUE TO WATCH IN HOPE THAT IT WILL BE WORTH THE WAIT. SHOW IS MOVING A LITTLE SLOW FOR ME IN GETTING STARTED. I KEEP HOPING THAT SOMEONE WILL TURN IN TO A RICK, DARRELL, MISHONE, SASHA, MAGGIE OR EVEN A LATE BLOOMER LIKE CAROL. PLEASE GIVE US ONE BAD-A__!!! SO FAR THE MOTHER AND MR SALAZAR ARE THE ONLY HOPEFULS. TRAVIS IS WAY TOO PURE. I THOUGHT AT FIRST THAT WAS SO WE WOULD SEE THE RADICAL CHANGE IN HIM THAT THE ZA CREATED,… Read more »
SOON!
fear the walking dead is fearing the ratings they overpaid for a 2nd season they’ll be lucky if they limp out of the first season REMEMBER FANS DONT DVR THIS SHOW change the channel to FOOTBALL, Lets get this show cancelled and get back to the Rick-tatership.
Why would we want to get this show cancelled and get back to Rick-tatership???? You do understand producing this show has ZERO impact on how many Walking Dead episodes they do and if they renew The Walking Dead. Walking Dead is a fall show Fear the Dead is a summer show. Seems kinda silly imo. I like both shows and hope this show continues. Calling for people to change the channel to tank a show that maybe some people like seems kinda mean spirited to me.
Even theTWD had a boring season because you had to have some drama in it. Fear TWD has to build up to anarchy and survival. If you watch the Talking Dead you learn a lot about what is to come and why they did what they did in the first season.
Ok, 4 epys in and zzzzz… How long does it take to the walking dead??? 1 or 2 more and I’m done. As you can see the ratings are falling. Maybe we’re the walking dead or should I say, sleep walking?
This show had better get moving soon or I’m out of here. I’m pretty bored!
it will be good to see how it all started from others point of view it was a bit slow but i will continue to watch to see if it picks up i enjoyed the 1st episode and am looking forward to see how the whole thing started and how
From the first episode the fear the walking dead looks good building to the ending of the first episode it just as good as it predecessor the walking dead looking forward to seeing episodes 2 and 3 but judging by the first episode it will be a hit I give 10 out 10
It is starting slow but I can see that it will build to a faster pace as it developes. TWD had a faster start since the apocalypse already had progressed as Rick was in the hospital unconscious. I can’t wait for the second and third episode already to see how it takes off and how the group will play out.
Nice ratings for a summertime spin-off’s premier! 😉
Get someone else to play the mother and this series will be successful
If you want to get rid of the mother, then I say get a different step father.
