TV show description:
This drama series details the lives of the Strategic Response Unit (SRU), a special force that is called on in severe situations that are too intense for regular officers. Based on the real-life Emergency Task Force of Toronto, Canada, the expert cops are often called upon to rescue hostages, dissipate gangs, negotiate with kidnappers, investigate bomb threats, and talk down possible jumpers.
While the SRU is heavily armed and specially trained, their real assets are their expertise in dealing with human emotions. The team explores the “flashpoint,” or the critical point that has suddenly triggered a person into action.
Sergeant Gregory Parker (Enrico Colantoni) leads this talented team of officers. His team looks up to him as a father figure, and he is gifted with an innate ability to read people. He’s been practicing since he was a young boy when he had to predict whether his father was about to hit or high-five him.
On Parker’s team are charismatic Ed Lane (Hugh Dillon), who is addicted to his job; observant Julianna “Jules” Callaghan, a former Royal Canadian Mounted Police; Mike “Spike” Scarlatti (Sergio Di Zio), the rebellious “little brother” and rookie of the team; sniper Sam Braddock (David Paetkau) who is smitten with Jules and was formerly a member of a military counter-terrorism task force; former troublemaker Lewis “Lou” Young (Mark Taylor), a street smart gang expert; gentle Kevin “Wordy” Wordsworth, a man driven to keep the streets safe by the love of his children; and forensic psychologist Dr. Amanda Luria (Ruth Marshall), who is able to get to the truth by using her sense of humor.
Episode #75 — Keep the Peace, part two
The members of Team One have no time to mourn the loss of Team Three leader Donna Sabine and one of her colleagues following the explosion of suspect and psychiatrist Anson Holt. The team learns that the perpetrator is actually Marcus Faber. He is one of Holt’s former students and a victim of his sadistic experiments.
Team One races through Toronto to defuse all of the remaining bombs. Greg Parker attempts to disable the last bomb in the catwalks of Fletcher Stadium and is twarted by Faber. A gravely injured Parker succeeds in diffusing the bomb and Ed Lane saves his life by fatally shooting Faber.
One year later, we find that Greg has retired to teach at the police academy. Spike and Winnie are officially a couple. Sam and Jules have their daughter, Sadie. Sam is the new leader of Team Three and Ed is promoted to Sergeant.
First aired: December 13, 2012
What do you think? Do you like the XXXXXX TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for another season?
We don’t get ION any longer, so I can’t even watch the last season of this truly wonderful show! I look forward to rewatching it on Netflix or whatever. It had a longer run than most shows like this so I consider it a win. For those of you who keep wondering why it was moved to ION, it has always been a Canadian owned production. We here in the USA are lucky to have had as much of it as we had!
I was upset when CBS let the show go, but elated when I saw it on Ion. Now it has been cancelled? How dare they! One of the best law enforcement shows EVER. More believable, more intelligent, I’m really upset. It was never given the best time slot; give it another chance. We can live with the changes, although I will really miss Greg. He can still do shows; just not in the same capacity.
Flashpoint will be sorely missed. The cast had a way of endearing themselves to the fans. I feel like I’m saying goodbye to friends.
I love Flashpoint the best show ever. It feel like the real thing life is so bad know. We really need this knowledge, about where help come from and what they go threw in life themselves.
Great acting, great show. Not sure why this was cancelled. Would be great to bring back if the could restore the cast.
Take a scene from dallas and make the 1 year all a dream and bring back this wonderful show. It should not have been cancelled. Took me a while to find where it had moved to. I have told everyone about it and now they are hooked just to have it end.
LOVED THIS SHOW!!!!!! PLEASE BRING IT BACK.
This is one of the best crime drama’s I have ever watched. The acting was phenominal, and the story line was so well done. What a mistake ending this show…
MAKE ONOTHER ONE…
My son and I happened upon FP in the last 3 shows of the whole series. We found it on Netflix and watched all the episodes. we can hardly wait to see season 5.
Watched WITHOUT FAIL, even when the repeats moved to ION it was always programmed to record. Can’t believe they finally came back for a new season on ION, only to not appear on the new seasons line up. Great series, one of the BEST that was out there!! Should have been on for many more seasons!!
Feel bad it’s over…one of the best shows on TV….wish it could come back…I still DVR all shows
I also loved the show and did not know it had moved to ION. My family and i could not wait for friday to get here so we could see flashpoint. Wish it was back on and advertised better.
I really LOVE this program. I record it on ION to watch at my leisure.
Wish it could be renewed.
Loved the show. Was unaware that it moved to ION. I was waiting for its return on CBS during summers. I have missed the last three seasons apparently . I know Enrico now appears semi regularly on Person of Interest so I guess there is no hope it will return. Is there anyway of seeing the entire 75 episodes?
They still have it on ion on fridays and tuesdays
