TV show description:
This drama series details the lives of the Strategic Response Unit (SRU), a special force that is called on in severe situations that are too intense for regular officers. Based on the real-life Emergency Task Force of Toronto, Canada, the expert cops are often called upon to rescue hostages, dissipate gangs, negotiate with kidnappers, investigate bomb threats, and talk down possible jumpers.
While the SRU is heavily armed and specially trained, their real assets are their expertise in dealing with human emotions. The team explores the “flashpoint,” or the critical point that has suddenly triggered a person into action.
Sergeant Gregory Parker (Enrico Colantoni) leads this talented team of officers. His team looks up to him as a father figure, and he is gifted with an innate ability to read people. He’s been practicing since he was a young boy when he had to predict whether his father was about to hit or high-five him.
On Parker’s team are charismatic Ed Lane (Hugh Dillon), who is addicted to his job; observant Julianna “Jules” Callaghan, a former Royal Canadian Mounted Police; Mike “Spike” Scarlatti (Sergio Di Zio), the rebellious “little brother” and rookie of the team; sniper Sam Braddock (David Paetkau) who is smitten with Jules and was formerly a member of a military counter-terrorism task force; former troublemaker Lewis “Lou” Young (Mark Taylor), a street smart gang expert; gentle Kevin “Wordy” Wordsworth, a man driven to keep the streets safe by the love of his children; and forensic psychologist Dr. Amanda Luria (Ruth Marshall), who is able to get to the truth by using her sense of humor.
Episode #75 — Keep the Peace, part two
The members of Team One have no time to mourn the loss of Team Three leader Donna Sabine and one of her colleagues following the explosion of suspect and psychiatrist Anson Holt. The team learns that the perpetrator is actually Marcus Faber. He is one of Holt’s former students and a victim of his sadistic experiments.
Team One races through Toronto to defuse all of the remaining bombs. Greg Parker attempts to disable the last bomb in the catwalks of Fletcher Stadium and is twarted by Faber. A gravely injured Parker succeeds in diffusing the bomb and Ed Lane saves his life by fatally shooting Faber.
One year later, we find that Greg has retired to teach at the police academy. Spike and Winnie are officially a couple. Sam and Jules have their daughter, Sadie. Sam is the new leader of Team Three and Ed is promoted to Sergeant.
First aired: December 13, 2012
What do you think? Do you like the XXXXXX TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for another season?
I want to see what happens with Jules, Sam, their baby, and the rest of the team. You guys left me in a huge cliff hanger….
BRING IT BACK. BEST SHOW EVER!
Why would FLASHPOINT be cansuled!! I’ve seen first part of last episod, didn’t know it was the last at time. The best show right with Criminal Minds I wudve been wantchin forever if it had been aired o ion from start. Please bring it back. I love Greg Parker and all the team but easpecally him. I want more and with him on team not gone teaching!!!
For several months I saw Flashpoint commercials, without ever tuning in, thinking it was just another violent, super-macho shoot ’em up. One night I did watch it, since there was nothing else of interest, and was amazed at the quality – and more than a bit irritated with myself that I’d never watched previously. And now, after only a couple months it’s gone. It is by far the most worthwhile police show I’ve ever seen – nothing else compares. Please do bring it back!
I also think Flashpoint is the best. I never have seen a team work better together, and not rely on all violence. Bring It Back!!!
Please bring back Flashpoint. Best show ever.
Please bring this show back. This was a great show. Recorded ever episode and couldn’t wait to get home from work to watch it PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this show it’s my favorite! Please bring it back.
I started watching this show on the ION channel earlier this year. I love the show . I checked to see if it had new episodes and have seen where it was cancelled. Please bring this show back with all the remaining living characters. This is a really good show. Promote the show. People will love it. Tired of all the good shows being cancelled.
Please bring back this show! It’s well conceived, smartly written and the ensemble of character actors mesh very well together. It’s hard to find these elements together in one place at all anymore and I really really hated to hear the show had been cancelled!! Please bring it back!!!
I love this show, best on television. Why do they always cancel the good shows and leave the real duds? Bring back Flashpoint !!!
Please don’t cancel this show. It is far better than Criminal Minds, Law and Order, Rookie Blue and many others. I have recommended it to friends and family members. The relationship between the show’s characters makes the show. I just watched the two shows about the bombings and wondered if it will continue. Please, please, don’t make a big mistake. This reminds me of when the network was going to cancel Cagney and Lacy.
Please bring it back I just started watching two weeks ago, my all time favorite show.
I love this show, please don’t cancel this. I have it recording on ION. It is one of my favorite shows…
I am so sad to find out this series is over. I just started watching it a couple if weeks ago and am hooked. I am sure my coworkers are tired of hearing me talk about it. This is a series that could have long standing in my book.
We just discovered the series a few months ago and have now purchased every season on DVD as well as watch reruns on ION when scheduled.
This show is better than my favorites, Criminal Minds and Law and Order: SVU, and my family and I are beyond disappointed that the series has been cancelled.
Please, ION, be smart and order another season. If not, hopefully another network will grab the opportunity before the actors become unavailable.
Seriously, a truly great series. We will miss the SRU.
